Sarah Palin: A Voice in the Wilderness

With President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration imminent, and Republican power and influence at an historical nadir, the two stories below won't receive much attention outside of Alaska. But they should, especially within GOP circles, as the debate of how to get out of the cellar and climb back to the penthouse begins in earnest, for they show precisely the route that must be taken.

Item: Palin Proposes 7 Percent Cut in State Spending

As Alaska's coffers are filled mostly by oil revenues, the recent drop in prices has caused revenues to slow. In response, Governor Sarah Palin's $4.9 billion budget calls for a 7 percent cut in overall state spending, mostly in capital projects. Combined with a modest 2 percent increase in the operating budget for state agencies, the budget outline would result in a $388 million surplus in 2010 if projections hold.

GREAT read!
Palin refuses a pay raise....Dem congress votes themselves a pay raise.
She's the real deal!

But they should, especially within GOP circles

the problem is, it IS getting play within GOP circles and they (both dems and reps) are scared to death of someone that will come in from the outside and upset their apple cart (pork laden bills, pet projects, etc..)

that being said, unless and until the GOP gets back to (if they were ever there in the first place) these principles, she has an uphill road.

THAT being said, I support PALIN ‘12 with Jindal or Cantor in the VP slot..

I dunno about that.....Palin with, perhaps, ex-governor Engler from Michigan, would be a great ticket...

Too true. Corruption in DC is rampant and even blatant. We need decent people to run for congressional offices in 2010. If the peeps get mad enough, newbies will have a chance to win without party support. Hopefully a groundswell of "throw the bums out" sentiment will explode in the next two years.

This is why out of all the nonsense this election cycle has wrought that this woman encourages me. I don’t give a fat rat about what DC, NY, and LA has to say about this woman——she is everything they aren’t to us——REAL!

McCain was right on during the campaign when he stated,”Imagine what she will do when she gets to Washington.”

This, ladies and gentleman is just another piece of proof.

Merry Christmas to the Palins and to everybody out there in Freep land.

I support Palin in '12, but she needs her own "Dick Cheney" as a running mate. I think someone along the lines of, say, Fred Thompson would be ideal!

Sarah and Fred 2012!

By her very persona and existence on the scene, the comparison exposes them for the corrupt liars and out-of-control egomaniacs they are, obsessed with staying in power.
