Egyptian Student Gets 15 Years in Fla. Terror Case

When two Muslim students were arrested late last year in South Carolina CAIR called it racial and religious profiling. Well the judge has called it terrorism and has sentenced one of them to 15 years in jail.

His attorneys acknowledged that he was a young student with unpopular political views who made a stupid mistake, but noted that he never hurt anyone.

These are not political views at all. These are religious views.

In his video he states that he is trying to save the people that would otherwise be martyred for future battles. Martyrs are those who die for the sake of their religion not for the sake of their political ideology.

This man did not get caught in a mistake. He was caught trying to assist in the crime of murder (terrorism).

I understand a defense lawyer trying to minimize the severity of his client’s crimes but the advocate should at least stay within the realm of reality.

Fifteen years is woefully inadequate, as is thirty. Why on earth would you warehouse a spy and sabateur? They’re not like fine wine: they don’t improve with age.

The key to this story is to look at the map. When you see how far off the beaten path they were with regards to their story of going to the beach in N.C. you know they were scoping out the military facility in question. Scary thought, ay. This is why I do not see any point in putting them in gaol — certainly not for a measly 15 years. What do they want to keep them for? Souvenirs?

They are enemy spies and sabateurs, and they ought to be treated exactly as they treat Americans that they kidnap/capture. They should be executed on videotape, which should then be televised as an example to encourage the others.
