1st post:(keep in mind jaxright is a newbee as stated)
I was looking for a video that I ran across recently from the 2004 Keyes/Obama Senate race debates where Keyes stated :"You are not even a Natural born citizen" to which Barack Obama replied: "That's OK, I am not running for president, I am only running for Senate."
Has anyone else seen this? I can't seem to find it again.
follow blog down to end..response from Keyes

What’s the rule on a Senator? Natural born is not a requirement?
I had not heard of this tape, but it is very interesting indeed. Thanks for the info.
BUMP for later reading!!
PING!!!
not even a Natural born citizen” :MSM it’s ok he’s one of ours.
I’d image any copies of this debate would have been lost, if this is true.
Thanks.
Wild goose chase
what he says in the second debate is that he is not running for Minister..or something like that..near the end.
I spent hour looking for this ..now I find out it never existed
Charles,
Your instincts are right. That exchange never happened. It was the invention of somebody on the internet, one which seems to have sort of taken on a life of its own.
Thanks for your diligence in getting at the truth.

I'm not really understanding the point of this thread, since Keyes' campaign chairman says the exchange in question never happened.
Exactly...someone has been posting on FR about this..
I wasted countless hours looking for something that never existed...I just wanted to enlighten others
and fake too....

I must agree with others here who say or imply that ‘the tape’ is a hoax. I sent an email to Alan Keyes’ website, stating I’d heard of an exchange between Keyes and Obama in which Obama had made this admission, but that I suspected it hadn’t happened. I got the following response from Tom Hoefling:

Nope. Mel Martinez comes to mind.
Okay thought not so thanks for the clarification.
So does Schumer of NY and Boxer of CA! /s/
Free Republic is the great debunking site! Forget Snopes.com and the Mainstream media!!
When I had some spare time this weekend after reading about this, I found the transcripts of the 3 debates on Keyes website and skimmed all three and didn’t see any sort of exchange like this.
I’m still hoping somebody, somewhere in the good ole USA will have standing with the SCOTUS. This whole thing just makes me mad.
Did they throw out Keyes' lawsuit? What about Donofrio's?
This is like the Canadian birth certificate, put out by Obama people to set up the opposition, and knock them down, embarrassing and belittling people who don’t think Obama is a citizen. Of course, this whole ordeal could be settled easily enough, but Obama doesn’t want to go there.
Probably a good analogy, though a Governorship is the way you have Arnold S. out in California, so yes, there seems to be different laws for these offices. I think a Senator too, can become one at a younger age than the Presidential requirement of 35 y.o.
