Bob Schieffer reports that John McCain decided to get personally involved in the bailout negotiations after Henry Paulson said it was necessary to bring Republicans aboard and save the plan from failure. The Austrian school of economics would advise us to allow all of the malinvestments to liquidate in an orderly fashion, allowing the chips to fall where they may.
Gold was rising on the news of a possible bailout BECAUSE the bailout, as proposed, would have been terribly inflationary.
Now that the bailout is in question, gold is skidding.
That should be your first clue as to the nature of the proposed “bailout.”

Awesome! Deep down inside, Bill Clinton has nothing but contempt for Obama. There’s no question he wants Obama to lose this election. The Clintons may unleash (through anonymous surrogates, of course) the ultimate October surprise on Obambi.
Tell McCain if he aids in getting the bailout bill passed a lot of Conservatives will be staying home.

Does Clinton want McCain to win this year, and then take the fall for the economic crisis. Then Hillary can come in on her white horse and become president in 2012.
I think the Clintons are posturing for 2012. I think they’d rather have McCain win then Obama because Hillary’s already lost to Obama.

The teleprompter must not be functioning too well because at least 3-4 times he had to completely stop for a like 30 secs until it resumed and then he repeated his last line and continued...it is so funny,. it just happened again! So McCain answers the call and takes decisive action and even puts his campaign on hold to put country first.
