I think sometimes it's just too easy to fall into the conspiratorial camp. People are putting forth all kinds of ideas about why this rally thing is turning out like this. I'm convinced it's nothing more than Hillary being shrewd enough, as a woman and as a pol, to get anywhere near Sarah! Sarah! Sarah!. I think anything else the Left gets from the ballyhoo is serendipity.

Regardless of what the cause, it's a win-win for Maverick/’Cuda. If I were advising the campaign I would counsel them to ignore Obama/Biden and go with nothing but happy talk about how badly Washington needs a dose of salts and they're just the ones to administer it. Be frank about how bad the situation is, but then move straight to how you plan to remedy it. Any time spend dwelling on Obama/Biden is counter-productive. Show Maverick/’Cuda! crowds and enthusiasm and talk about how they will shake up the status quo.

I still feel a really good ad would be very short and to the point. Open with Dingy Harry saying “No one knows what to do. . .” and then have McCain and/or Palin look right into the camera and say, “He might not know what to do, but I/we do!” ‘Nuff said!

Hillary certainly wants no part of being upstaged by "Sarah Sarah Sarah" calls from the crowd. At the same time, the issue transcends politics. that is the main point. its time to be statesmen statespeople, er or whatever the term will be.
