New John McCain Ad Sets Record Straight on Obama's Role in Immigration Reform - Video 9/12/08
Blogs for John McCain ^ | September 12, 2008 | brianinmo

Posted on 09/12/2008 10:56:56 AM PDT by blogsforthompson.com

Here is a new John McCain Ad on "Immigration Reform." It is in Spanish and aimed at Hispanics to set the record straight no who actually tried to get Immigration Reform passed. Below is the translation:

ANNCR: Obama and his Congressional allies say they are on the side of immigrants. But are they?

The press reports that their efforts were ‘poison pills’ that made immigration reform fail.

The result:

No guest worker program.

No path to citizenship.

No secure borders.

No reform.

Is that being on our side?

Obama and his Congressional allies ready to block immigration reform, but not ready to lead.

JOHN MCCAIN: I’m John McCain and I approve this message.

Whether you agree with McCain or not on his attempt at Immigration Reform, this is a brilliant strategy to win over Hispanic Voters. He has been a great friend to Hispanics, and this ad points out the reality that Obama is big on talk but short on actions. . . . . . (see video at link)

Barf. McCain still hasn’t given up on amnesty. And just last night on his Virginia Web site, there were ads touting his “climate change” solution as a matter of “national security.”

“Whether you agree with McCain or not on his attempt at Immigration Reform, this is a brilliant strategy to win over Hispanic Voters. He has been a great friend to Hispanics,”

McCain needs to be a ‘friend’ and win over some US CITIZENS first! They’re NOT all hispanic and want amnesty, which I’m sure is a surprise to him. If McCain would get right on this subject he’d win this thing big. The ‘hispanics’ have already turned on him for all his pandering, just like they did Bush.

It's not the only dumb thing he's reminding voters about.

Last night, when I checked, his Virginia Web site (virginia.johnmcccain.com) was running ads touting climate change as a national security issue. (Wtf.)

McCain is still McCain. The only difference is that he's now hiding behind Palin.

Funny thing is that almost to a man, all the American hispanics I know are vehemently anti illegal immigration.

Sounds to me like he’s pandering for illegal votes.

Well that’s ethical.

This was my comment on Jim’s thread. I don’t want it to be taken as a slam at Jim, because it’s not.

Jim and many folks on FR are going to vote for McCain because they recognize Obama to be a terrible prospect for President. I’m not going to fault them for it. I just can’t support John McCain. I’ve had it with voting in folks who will do serious damage to our nation, just because they other guy might do more.

Give me a guy who truly loves this nation, or don’t expect my vote. At any rather, here is my comment on that thread.

Its a good ad

You're right.

Once again, it reminds everyone going ga-ga over Sarah that the other guy has nothing but contempt for the people that he professes to be part of.

Truth is, Mad Johnny's got only one constituent: himself.

And only a guy who spends a lot of time looking in the mirror would think he can become the President of the U.S. on the votes of the citizens of Mexico.

It's a good ad. Everyone needs reminding.

Very effective ad.

Hispancs are going to vote for McCain is surprising numbers mostly due to Hispanic women who are working and love Palin.

More of the Palin effect.

This is why we need a tsunami voter turn-out in November so that we retake congress. With a GOP congress we will be able to keep McCain from getting a chance to pass amnesty, or Cap on Trade, etc..

If we're lucky Sarah will take over in 2012 and McCain will retire.

As long as there are fiscal conservatives in that mix who can keep the GOP from going on a drunken spending orgy.

Sorry to have to point this out, but John McCain HAS NOT been a good friend to Hispanics. Who do you think are the first people to loose jobs when illegals pour across our border? Whose wages are depressed due to the flood of cheap labor? Law abiding Hispancs, that's who.

I hope John realizes he won't be getting the majority of the illegal votes, no matter what he has done to get them.

FYI, for those interested:

- Judicial Watch has listed Alaska as a Sanctuary City since 2003 (wonder what, if anything, Ms Palin did during her tenure to object?)

- Mexican Consulate is set to open in Alaska this month with a celebration of Mexican Independence Day.

- Alaska is one of only 11 States that gives Drivers Licenses to illegal aliens.

- Palin refused to sign (and interestingly, also refused to veto) legislation that, as a result of her doing nothing, made Alaska the 9th state to pass a law prohibiting compliance with the REAL ID Act. “Governor Palin and the Alaska legislature deserve praise from all Alaskans for standing up to the federal government,” added Jeffrey Mittman, executive director of the ACLU of Alaska.

“I don’t even know what so say. Seems like astounding stupidity to remind voters about immigration.”

Yeah but he knows those of us who care deeply about our borders, as I do, have nowhere else to turn. They take us for granted. Heck the party elders have taken conservatives for granted on issues such as this and spending for decades. Eventually it will come back to bite them and people won’t stand for conservative talk every couple falls and moderately liberal government the rest of the time. Or it won’t matter because by that time we will have so many hispanic voters that the Republican party will no longer be a national force. If McCain, Bush, or others think that we’ll win that demographic they are tripping. We won’t unless we win a handout war with the ‘Rats.

I have no doubt that McCain will win without my help. (I’m writing in Hunter) However the backlash Bush faced on the issue will be nothing compared to what McCain will face when he tries. I wouldn’t call for impeaching him but I certainly won’t stand in the way either. After all, a president is elected to enact the will of the people and presidents have been playing emperor for far too long.

The lie, “anti-illegal immigration people cost the repubs the 2006 election!!

The truth:11.5% of all Republican seats in Congress were lost as Democrats took back control of Congress

But only 6.7% of the Members of Tancredo’s Immigration Reform Caucus lost their seats.AND- one of them was Hayworth who voted against HR 4437!

# 9.6% with an A grade lost

# 25.0% with an F grade lost
