People are asking for Sarah Palin style eyeglasses (Vanity)

Mrs. 2ndDivisionVet is the manager of an optical department in a major department store chain. Two customers came in today asking for "Sarah Palin" type eyeglasses, and her associates at other stores are reporting the same requests. What does that tell you?

I think this choice was the smartest thing Senator McCain could've done. As much as I wanted Fred Thompson as VP, this is brilliant and magic...

It would be interesting to see how many young women begin to imitate her hairstyle, etc.

They lack original thought and exist by copycatting others. Must be Biden supporters.

;-)

As a person of the male persuasion, and someone who has already had a number of 39th birthdays, I can say that I don’t like Palin’s choice of eyeware. I think they make her look like her head is a cube shape.

That’s just me, though. I’ve worn glasses since I was 3 years old, and I’ve seen more than my share.

My 13 daughter walked out of her room yesterday with her hair up and her glasses ON. That never happens. What a wonderful role model for girls and young women.

How many people have been asking for Biden style hairplugs?

Indeed. Now, get your daughter out to the firing range, if you have not done so already. ;-)

I will be interested to see how many women in my age group imitate Palin. Heck, I’d like to marry a woman like her. Smart, confident, feminine, and handy with a firearm.

“What does that tell you?”
-——it tells me that Palin is the rock star Obama and his supporters thought he was. His star continues to fade, hers continues to glow. Soon he’ll be the proverbial light year away.

You mean the kind that can be sunk in deep since there's no danger of hitting anything important?

The small frame or frameless style of eyeglasses has become more popular. They have the definite advantage of lighter weight. Therefore they are less likely to slide down your nose. I have been wearing them since November. My glasses are of a masculine type - but then so am I.

I bet gold hoop earrings are getting a lift, too.

Some people copy fashion. Others create it.

On occasion, I travel to one of the most liberal parts of the San Gabriel valley, sit down, and enjoy some coffee. My wife was along with me, and we were sitting in companionable silence, each sipping coffee and each reading books, when I overheard a conversation at the table behind me.

I gave a glance towards them - yup, the same batch of college radicals that I usually observe, but they were conversing about someone who had a McCain/Palin bumper sticker on their car. (cough)

At first, it was the normal snide remarks about how horrid the person must be that he'd stand up against a black man becoming president, the normal liberal torrent of hate. Then one of their number started speaking up about Palin. Explained that she's the mother of five, used to run a company, mayor of a town, and now governor of our largest state. She spoke passionately about her, while fielding questions from those at the table.

When the conversation ended, there were three McCain/Palin supporters, and two Obama/Biden supporters left, with the final challenge having been thrown down - If the Obama supporters support change, would that be better represented by two men going to Washington, or an even representation of the population of the United States - a man, and a woman.

I wonder how long until we have the daily commercials of Pelosi, Feinstein, Boxer all telling us how awful Palin is, how she'll personally force every pregnant woman into alleys where coat-hangers wait. And I wonder how much they'll backfire.

KRAMER: Okay, thank you. Listen Jake, uh, where did you get those eyeglass frames?

JAKE: I can’t tell you that.

KRAMER: So you don’t know where you got ‘em?

JAKE: Yes I do. But I don’t want anyone else to have them.
