Drilling is a Veto Away for the Grand Oil Party

"There are things you can do individually, though, to save energy. Making sure your tires are properly inflated – simple thing. But could we save all the oil that they’re talking about getting off drilling – if everybody was just inflating their tires? And getting regular tune-ups? You’d actually save just as much!" – Sen. Barack Obama, July 30, 2008

With the above, Obama shows just how utterly disconnected from reality and living in his own imaginary far left-wing world he is. First of all, you can never conserve your way out of a shortage. What is it about the simple phrase “get more” that he can't understand? Second, the U.S. currently consumes 20 million barrels of oil per day, and in a great many things other than motorized vehicles. All the tire and engine checks in the world wouldn't begin to make a dent in that.

Last, the Green River Formation in Colorado and Utah holds roughly 800 billion barrels of recoverable oil from shale. That alone is enough to last 100 years, and that's but one location. Off-shore ocean drilling, ANWR, the list of domestic places holding tons of oil goes on. In truth, there is no shortage at all.

the only shortage is in the brain power of the democratic leadership up on capitol hill@ Barack’s message is one of change: maybe the republicans ought to “borrow” this for their congressional seats up for grabs@

I inflated the tire on my wheelbarrow and now it uses no gas at all.

That kid, osamaobama, he knows this energy stuff, what a Precedent he'll make.

Where can I get that super stuff you put in the wheelbarrow tire? I could use some of it in mine?

Thank you.

I rather build my own " Motorized " wheel barrel that uses fuel if I could.
Actually, if you think about it, it could be done if you rig up some way to put a moped motor on it......
Let's face it, our culture loves motorized cool things , i.e. motorized weed eaters, motorized lawn and garden gadgets, our cars, trucks.
It seems the Democrats and Environmentalist want to take all the fun out of our lives... and bring us back to the stone age.

I'm going out to the garage. There's this little car with pedals. I'm going to get a hitch to attach the Red Flyer to it for the groceries and the three kids.

Then I'm going to the town and propose a "car path" be constructed on every street.

My next "good idea" is to invent a "fartless" cow.

"First of all, you can never conserve your way out of a shortage."

Conserving is a good idea, but conserving doesn't create more of anything, especially if there are more and more people wanting what you're trying to conserve. Can you diet your way out of a food shortage if the population keeps growing but the food supply isn't? Can you budget your out of a money shortage if you can't increase your income but your fixed expenses continue to increase? Obama is a dangerously naive man who should not be in a position of power.

" My next "good idea" is to invent a "fartless" cow. "

Why waste the effort to invent a " Fart less Cow " when, in less cost and effort, you can invent some way to harness the methane to fuel your car from cow farts.

Nancy Pelosi and her minions continue to spout the same propaganda line: drilling will create no new oil for 10 years and save consumers only 2 cents a gallon on gasoline. The "10 years and 2 cents" line is a deliberate fiction, as is the alternative version, in which some Democrats claim it will take 20 years to produce oil from new wells.

As you might suspect, these numbers are made up out of whole cloth, or pulled out of somewhere dark and deep in any event. Perhaps they reflect an assumption of endless environmental reviews, lawsuits, and regulatory oversight, all of which Democrats might use as roadblocks, but only at their political peril.

Oil industry analysts and production engineers tell a far different story, though, indicating that oil could begin flowing from new wells in months, not years, with full-blown production possible in a five-year period, depending on the source. Even the possibility of new crude sourcing has caused world oil prices to drop 17% since mid-June. Imagine what real production activity would do.

You’re right...I need to invent a supply hose “with a built in system”. Don’t think the cows gonna like that.
