This is a good compromise. This sucks the wind out of the Republican attack against Obama on offshore drilling, without taking our eye off what needs to be done for our future.

Obama is failing as a leader on this issue just like he did on FISA. I hope he just playing election politics and will show real strength and leadership once elected, but it seems less likely to happen that way as time goes

I am convinced the DUmmies, HUffies, KOmmies, et al never flunked economics 101, more than likely because they flunked second grade math.

I remember very well the stink raised by the pre-greenies many, many years ago when the oil companies began drilling offshore of Galveston.

"It's going to ruin fishing and shrimping," they cried.

Lo and behold it was discovered a couple of years later that the rigs became artificial reefs, and fishing and shrimping improved dramatically!
