He is #2 on favorability behind Colin Powell and the Republicans say Gephardt is the one were most afraid of.

By the way, how old is Dickey Boy?
Gephardt? Says something about the Dems bench strength.
If the ‘pubs fear Little Dickie, they may as well close up shop...it’s over for the gutless bastiges....goodbye and good riddance!
Dick Gephardt? The dems are always pulling some has been out of retirement that was supposedly loved at one time. Why not grab the "deeply saddened one" from the retirement home.
Republicans are afraid of him?? Like Edwards and Clark, he is another one who ran for president (more than once) and got nowhere. If that’s any indication of how much excitement he would create, then by all means pick him! Would have even carry MO for Obama? Perhaps not. I just don’t see where he helps Obama that much.
Having said that, I suspect it won’t happen anyway. He will be vetoed by the far left and the pro abortion crowd. Gephardt voted to ban partial birth abortion in the House, as I recall. I think compared to Pelosi and company he is considered a little more moderate and perhaps too patriotic to meet the approval not only of the NARAL gang, but also of the outfits whose butts Obama must kiss like Code Pink, Moveon, etc.
OMG~! please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please let this be true

If he's the one the Republicans are most afraid of then it says something about their lack of courage.
I really dislike this man. He always looks constipated.
wink wink
The same Gepfart who lost to Michael Dukakis in 1988... who is now a lobbyist in Washington?
We’re supposed to be afraid of Lil’ Dick?
>>In a front-page gaffe reminiscent of the Chicago Tribunes infamous 1948 Dewey Beats Truman headline, Tuesdays Post trumpeted an exclusive report that Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry had picked Rep. Richard Gephardt as his running mate. Instead, in an e-mail to his supporters, and then in a campaign stop in Pittsburgh, Kerry on Tuesday announced his selection of Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) to join the ticket.
