We humans alive now have had the opportunity for the easiest existence in the history of mankind; modern medicine, technology, leisure time, no predators to speak of... I hear so much complaining from every quarter that I feel just isn't supported by the evidence. If I'm wrong, then ignorance IS bliss.
People like to complain, and I’m not exempt. Sometimes it’s just a lot easier than trying to change something we don’t like. You’re right though: we do live in a time and place when existence is far easier (and cushier) than ever before in history. As a culture, we often tend to dwell on the negatives, especially when goaded into such a frame of mind by our Political Class, whose members thrive on providing “solutions” to non-existent problems, or to ones they themselves have created.
