The rumor is that tomorrow’s big endorsement for Fred will be George Allen.
I thought Allen already endorsed him?
I thoght George had already endorsed Fred. He’s been campaigning with Fred, as I understand it.

OK, I could be wrong. I just heard it in two different forums. Perhaps it was the same person ignorant of that fact.
Allen endorsed him a long time ago.
It won’t be a name. Because there’s only one name that would carry clout with an endorsement, and that’s Rush, and I guarantee he’s not breaking his policy of not endorsing anyone. He’s just not.
It’s the NRA.

#1, people aren’t going to listen to Rush for advice on who to pick. If they would of, they’d already be supporting Fred.
#2, if Rush picks someone (lets say Fred), and he gets beat in SC, Rush looks like a total loser. This is why he doesn’t endorse, he doesnt want to put himself in that position.
NRA is a member organization. Member organizations, for the most part, walk in line and tow the company line.
They carry clout the same way evangelical leaders get their bible thumpers in a row.
I just looked into it. Senator Allen endorsed Fred Thompson last October.
There wouldn’t be much newsworthy in re-endorsing him.

Rush has done everything he could to say he endorses Fred without saying “I endorse Fred”
Only an idiot or a blind supporter of one of the other candidates wouldn’t be able to not only read between the lines but also hear him bluntly say FRED IS THE REAL CONSERVATIVE ... not that he’s endorsing anyone of course ....
That’s gonna leave a big, fat huckleberry mark.

U R all in denial... I like Fred but Huck’s come back was better and got more applause.... Fred has many of the issues correct but his chances are running near empty. Sorry guys but its the truth.

Huckabee’s comeback was lame, He didn’t even respond to any of the charges. He ducked and dodged. Some bible thumpers in the audience stood by their savior, that’s all.

I hope it’s the NRA. Rush has ALMOST blurted out an endorsement for Fred several times in the past week. I don’t know if he can hold out this time.
I wish one of the others on the receiving end of Huckabee’s nastiness would say, “Hang on Huck while I turn the other cheek.”
I think Duncan Hunter will withdraw and pledge to work for Fred’s election.

His campaign predictions and strategies are really kicking in, too. He didn’t come out of his shell before the SC debates, and he’s viewed SC as the gateway to the conservative American South and West. With so many of those states and a larger conservative cry every day in this country, I’m really hoping his candidacy takes off and lights him on fire
I’m surprised that nobody has yet to think that maybe the endorsement is from Dr Dobson. That would certainly take the wind out of Hucksters sails.
Dobson might be the only single individual out there with the power to match an NRA endorsement.
I’ll bet the endorsement is the Club for Growth.

Senator Thompson played a key role in passing McCain-Feingold, he opposes a Marriage Protection Amendment, and he’s never explicitly renounced his opposition to state laws banning abortion.
Dobson ripped Thompson back in March 07 when Fred talks started warming up..
Since then they’ve reconciled and have been TALKING ALOT!!!
Dobson has had EVERY OPPORTUNITY to endorse Huckabee this campaign and hasn’t!! He even went out of his way to deny a report that he was endorsing Huckabee.
This would be a stunner of epic proportions if Thompson landed Doc Dobson!!
The state rights issue has more to do with federalism than opposing anti-abortion or marriage protection laws.
Dobson endorsement would be bigger than NRA imo because of the shock value behind it. It would be a tremendous blow to the Huckster.
This would be a perfect 1-2 punch on him.. #1 Nailing him as a liberal on debate night, #2 Dobson endorsement.
