I blame docs and druf companies. My best friend needed to take a med to treat his high blood pressure. A side effect was that he would easily become wildly enraged (I saw it, it wasn't pretty) so the doc prescribed some happy pills. Happy pills had some sort of side effect, so the doc prescribed something else. And so on.

Your friend sounds like he has a Kaiser Permanente doc. That's what a couple of Kaiser docs did with my wife . She ended up with 12 prescriptions to counteract side effects upon side effects before she dumped them all out and decided to just live with the original problem.

It's possible. Although I blame his wife...she's a hypochondriac. My friend never had problems like this before he got married to her.

I agree with one of the above posters in that unless it's going to kill you, you're probably better off not getting addicted to some drug to treat it. Popping heavy duty pills because of a joint that's a little sore, or because your tummy hurts, or becuase you're not quite as happy as you think you should be, is for fools. Shame on the doctors for allowing their patients to medicate like this.

Wonder if all of these fools on DU considered that the reason they "need" to medicate, is as a result of their medications?
