I have Bush Estrangement Syndrome (BES)
The Corner ^ | 5/31/07 | Kathryn Jean Lopez, Mark Levin

K-Lo gives it a name and Levin sums it up rather nicely.

Right Diagnosis [Kathryn Jean Lopez]

I've worried I have Bush Derangement Syndrome. David Frum says we've divorced. But I think I have it figured out — I have Bush Estrangement Syndrome (BES). Mark Levin definitely has it. Laura Ingraham — as you know if you've heard this — has it.

The President Is Losing Me

I guess it's legacy time over at the White House. The president is imitating Arnold Schwarzenegger now. Does the president have any conservative domestic initiatives that he's actively pursuing? If so, I'd like to know what they are. Richard Nixon tried this when his ratings were low. It didn't work.

Mr. President, the Left hated you the day you walked into the Oval Office, if not before. Their hate for you is frozen in time. If you actually believe in what you are doing, then I and many others misjudged you. You expanded the federal role in education, and we held our nose because of the war. You signed McCain-Feingold in the dead of night, and we held our nose because of the war. You expanded Medicare by adding prescription drugs, and we held our nose because of the war. You increased farm subsidies, and we held our nose because of the war.

Today you disparage us for opposing a massive amnesty program that endangers our economy and national security. Today you even embrace the religion of global warming, a stunning shift from prior policy (your administration even went to the Supreme Court and argued correctly that carbon dioxide is not a pollutant). What's a conservative to do?

And I am a witch because I agree with pretty much the whole editorial board of the National Review? Give me a break.

I should have gone with Who'suncle instead of crip.

“I should have gone with Who’suncle instead of crip.”

Huh?

I should have pointed out that I am a bigtime “The Band” fan.

I am sorry to say I'm suffering the same illness. Not for long I hope. This President is becoming one big disappointment and it hurts me to say that because I thought Carter and Clinton sucked.

Well, are you obedient or not? If you could do it so many times before, why can you not hold your nose because of the war just one more time? He promises it won't ever happen again - he LOVES you, don't you see that? He doesn't want to hurt you, it is just that he is forced to.

You don't understand, see. It is YOUR fault for abandoning him, you have no loyalty, you have no gratitude, you are no better than the leftists, and you are on the precipice of being guilty of treason for not supporting the commander of chief in times of war. This is what the terrists want! It means you hate freedom and you hate America, and must be wunna them Paulies or Buchananites or Cindy Sheehan types. It is YOUR fault, get that through your head.

What in the world will people use as joke fodder when that man retires?

So you also disagree with Levin?

It helps if you chant over and over again, “At least he’s not Kerry. At least he’s not Kerry. At least he’s not Kerry”.

Me too....

Here’s a suggestion for a legacy for Bush—

1) Build the wall.
2) Crack down on employers of illegals
3) Cut off all benefits to illegals
4) Push a Constitutional amendment to eliminate “anchor babies”
5) Abolish the IRS

Now that would be a great legacy!!

Again it helps if you chant, “At least he’s not Kerry” or Gore for that matter. I held my nose and voted for Bush twice simply because there was no better choices. I have hollered to all that would listen with every policy fiasco that he pushed down the pike. No loyalty here, except on the war on radical islamism.

Do symptoms of this disease include difficulty resisting the urge type profanities in all caps and making disparaging remarks about various Republicans’ reproductive organs? If so, then I have a screaming case of BES.

According to the kooks who post in the commentary section of the Wash Post editorials Bush is 100% conservative who has ramrodded his conservative policies through and governs exclusively on conservative principles.

If you think I’m kidding look for yourself.

Don’t you mean calling Republicans words that represent various reproductive organs?

No, I mean their apparent lack of certain organs; ones that usually come in pairs, to be more specific.
