I have a Diet Mountain Dew when I get to work in the morning. Don't eat breakfast, though :-) I suppose I ought to quit...

I'm guessing this trend is more related to hangovers than anything else.

I drink soda in the morning. Diet Dr. Pepper usually. Sometimes Diet Mt. Dew. Other than this last week or so, it is usually just too dang hot here to drink hot coffee, and I refuse to pay $6 for a Starbucks frozen coffee.

Carpooled once upon a time with a lawyer from somewhere in the south.
Every morning I get coffee and donut -- he'd have a cola and a Snappy Tom.

Great, so when all these idiots get diabetes in their 40's, the rest of us are stuck with their medical bills.

t's not unusual for Dee McKinsey to have three cans of Coke before she leaves the house ...Just for reference, that's 30 teaspoons of sugar, but, whatever floats your boat. I guess I'll stick with coffee.

My college roommate liked Coke -- flat and strong. He took to buying Coke syrup and mixing it half and half with water. Gah!

I pretty much stopped drinking cokes and only have about 1 or 2 a month. Too much sugar.

I like a small swig of soda in the middle of the night, but it's a coffee for me in the morn for me.
Lost a lot of weight by cutting out the sodies.
Just can't handle the taste of diet pop.(or lite beer, for that matter) Makes me thirstier.

The healthy alternative to all of these morning beverage choices is obvious: BEER.

She must have a short commute.

I do not like the taste of either coffee or tea but a sunny up egg and some sausage chased with a can of coke is a delight for me.
I've cut way back my soda drinking but that morning Coke is the hardest one of all to give up.
Like the lady said that cool fizzy carbonated feeling in the mouth and tingling the nose is enjoyable in the morning.

Ick. I first saw this repulsive Southern habit when I lived in Texas for a few years. Each to his own, but I will never take up this disgusting practice.
