People that I have known for years, that have been apathetic about politics, are fired up this year. They are sick of the lies, the incompetence, the cronyism, the creeping fascism, and the hubris that the Republicans embody.

Since I live in such a "safe" GOP area of the country, I never get to see any of the front line action. Is the mushy middle of the electorate really upset with the Re-Publicans, or is this just the hangover talking?

Actually, the Republicans are more in danger from their base being upset with their drunken-sailor spending and their Big Government non-conservatism.

Think of what a wonderful country this would be if angry mobs roamed the streets, dragging out all those who have been swiftboated and publicly beating them to death as a message to all others who would dare disobey. We would then and only then be the best country ever! -

These people challenge one's sense of reality. . .expressing the Leftist 'ideal' (small i of course). What a great ad they are for themselves.

And just why do they think people risk all; sacrifice all. ..to come to our Country to begin with. Because we have Starbucks?

Would suggest this writer live his dream. . .move to Syria. . .Iran. . .Darfur. . .Zimbabwe. . .Cuba - whatever; there are plenty places where he could really enjoy life.

p.s. and 'that said'. . .think Repubs better reclaim and restore integrity to the very word. . .. Somehow. . .and come up with adjectives most appropriately describe the Leftist smear tactics; at least a word they can appreciate and understand.

Notice how in this 'rest of the story' they offer only a 'drive-by' hit on O'Neil; the Left's version of 'packaged truth'. . .kind of like a terrorist's back-pack. . .dropped on the street.

Ya got one problem with your complaints against the "Swiftboat" veterans: Kerry was never able to refute what they said. They cited dates, times, places, witnesses. Kerry simply said, "How dare you challenge me, a decorated war veteran?" It was easy. Tell the truth, and they sunk Kerry's lying little swiftboat tale.

I think this is more projection than anything else. If every time a DU'er claimed 4 or 5 converts or new voters will vote against the GOP there would be more democtrat voters than people in the US. His little circle may have a few dis guntled people but in other areas there are people disgruntled with the dems. We will all know in early November who is correct.
