FAIRTAX CALCULATOR
www.fairtaxcalculator.org
Do you have questions on what FairTax will cost your family? Have doubts about it's progressiveness? Worried it will place an unfair burden on the poor, the middle class, the young or the seniors?
Time to put the hype aside and stop listening to all the spin. Why not just find out exactly what FairTax will mean to your own personal bottom line? It's easy. Just go to the FairTax Calculator, input your gross income. Approximate your 8 "fair tax deductions" which represent your yearly tax free spending. Give your family size to determine your "monthly prebate". In 10 easy lines the fairtax calculator will calculate for you just what you would pay annually in FairTax considering your spending habits and number of dependents. The calculator will show your net effect annual FairTax percentage rate, the dollar amount of fairtax you would pay on your income, and the amount of your family's monthly fairtax prebate under HR 25.
No one will pay 23% net effective annual rate because of the prebate factor. Actually, many will pay well under 15%, while MOST will see a reduction in taxes over what they pay today for income tax plus 7.65% social security taxes. More importantly, by personally controlling one's own spending/savings habits, ALL will have more control over the amount of sales tax they pay, effecting what their own bottom line FairTax rate will be. ALL will see the IRS out of their personal life, and freedom and privacy restored!
Exact figures are not needed. Approximations will give you a very good picture of the Fair "sales" Tax system's effect on your personal tax burden. Then, just take these FairTax figures and compare them to your current income tax bill to the IRS, using your pay stubs showing current withholding, or last year's Income tax figures (income tax + Social Security FICA withholding). Then if you like, you can also figure a FLAT 24.65% on your annual income to determine what you would pay in tax under any of the current Flat Tax Proposals (17% income tax + 7.65% FICA social security). Isn't FairTax less complicated than the current IRS income tax? Wouldn't FairTax be less costly to you than any proposed "Flat Tax"?
Young, old, retired, unemployed, self employed, student. No matter who you are or what situation you are in, there is a good chance that your bottom line under FairTax will be smaller. How? By broadening the tax base and taxing ALL those spending money in the U.S., including legal and non legal residents, the underground economy, those earning a living through criminal activities, those currently evading taxes, those using loopholes to avoid taxes, those tourists using our services. When all pay, the burden for each of us is lowered. That's the "fair" in FairTax.
Put your doubts aside. Take the time to check out the FairTax Calculator. It's easy, it's fast, and it's totally anonymous! All hype aside, the numbers show the true story so you be the judge.
Check it out!

Let the flame begin.
Interesting calculator. It's about a wash for me.
I'm self employed and it's a really big savings for me.
My taxes would go up.
Forget Fair Tax. It's useless until they enact Sane Spend.
This is about the fifth or sixth time you've posted this.
My taxes would go up also.
I'm single and this calculator reduced my taxes by a considerable amount. This doesn't make sense. It gives me a net overall tax rate of 10.79%.
My taxes would go up too.
No flame from me. The ultimate taxpayer is the consumer anyhow. Many of whom have no clue as to what they are paying in taxes. Ask a guy on the street who thinks his salary is 50k and he can't figger out why his check isn't 1k a week.
Tell me about it..Right now I drive a taxi but before that I ran my own business and I swear I could write a 1000 book encyclopedia on all the absolute living effin` f-ing hell I went though with the IRS through the years, you just would not believe it in a million years.
Just to give you one example, thanks to an error on part of a psycho accountant one year, the IRS for about 8 months insisted I owed them about $400k!!! I was literally preparing myself for a long jail term until thank God they finally cleared it up through a lawyer, and that is just ONE example.
Then after the biz failed and I found out I could only claim a $3k loss per year, that led directly to bankruptcy (which does not clear an IRS debt by the way. The IRS does not care if you are living in the gutter collecting quarters, they want their money!) which led to where I am now. Driving a bunch of whiny liberals around 12 hours a day. I got my debt down to about $4k now, but to get to this point has basically destroyed my life.
Lesson #1 NEVER ever ever ever quit your job and use your entire 401k to start a business!
Lesson #2 NEVER ever ever ever trust someone to do your taxes! YOU are the one ultimately responsible and the one the IRS will come after.
Lesson #3..NEVER ever ever ever ignore the IRS!
Duplicate thread.

Try buying a car, or a home, or a new appliance as a retired person on a fixed income under the FairTax. Or how about the special costly purchase by the poor? It is the immediate hit that will hurt. And think the price of the product will come down because of the savings the manufacture will experience. BS. Business will just keep the price the same, and there is no incentive to reduce anything. Greed will rule.
Sounds like you are just being held responsible for your actions, and lack of preparation to me.
If you screwed over the FairTax collection authorities by not remitting the proper paperwork and monies, I'm sure they'd want their money too. And they would use the same tactics to collect.
Why should the IRS care if you are living in a gutter? If you owe back taxes, you owe back taxes. You sound like a liberal.
such civility!
Oh believe me, I blame myself 100000%!!! I SHOULD be living in the gutter but the IRS gave me a break. When my biz went downhill I turned to drink which made it 1000 times worse, I ignored them "Oh let me get drunk and they will go away". Then they took control of my bank account, garnished my wages, basically held me by the throat and destroyed me. All I`m saying is if it was made a lot easier, I probably would not have been thrown into that mess. What started me downhill was my pyscho accountant (who is now in jail) who thought it was funny to put down I made $4 million in one year instead of $40,000. If it was easier I would have never used an accountant, but you tell me how anyone has the time to spend 3 gazillion hours going through all that paperwork and reciepts.
And please, do not call me a liberal. You just gave me the ultimate insult. That`s like calling me a pedophile.
