Now, my sister-in-law will probably have to stay home. Why? She has a baby. And she's been told that she can only carry a limited amount of formula/milk, and only the diapers and wipes that she can carry on her person.

And what airport is this? This sounds like a paranoid fantasy by a DUmmie, not real-life. I have traveled with an infant, just 3 months ago, and there was no such restrictions on any of our flights (and we left from and returned to Reagan National in DC, which has some of the most restrictive policies in the country).

If there's even a glimmer of truth to this story, it probably has to do with the stupid woman trying to take on two carry-ons, plus a purse, plus a diaper bag, and who knows what else, exceeding the airline's carry-on policy, not some TSA regulation.

As soon as the plot was busted last night, UK airports restricted all passengers to wallets and passports only on any flights originating in the UK. That was eventually loosened up to allow some personal items, but carry on luggage in UK airports was extremely limited for a while and may still be.
