It was well over 90 degrees today in Washington, a typical hot, swampy day in the nation's capitol. Not what you would consider jacket weather. The House Gallery was filled to capacity as Iraqi Prime Minister al-Malaki took the podium and gave a historic address to a joint session of Congress. Al-Malaki was interrupted briefly by a protestor, shown being escorted out, here:

Isn't Major Owens the brain surgeon who got up on the House floor and said, with a straight face, that five million blacks were thrown over the side of slave ships?
And that the sharks still follow the "trails" today, 200 years later?

Believe it or not, Major Owens did us a huge favor. That outburst only shows how far out of touch the left is in this country. Here we have a man who is risking his life in order to lead his Country away from the Dictatorship these lefties continuously defend.
All she did is expose the "Democrat Base" to ordinary Americans, and that exposure is a good thing

Typical Dem Nancy boy, hiding behind a women, why not heckle on his own? Because no one would understand what he was yelling, if he could manage to haul his big fat butt out of his seat before the speech ended.

Yup but he claimed 100 million. There weren't 100 million blacks in Africa during the entire 100 years of the 18th century.

You might be right about that. This display was an embarrassment to them, they just don't see it.
But I do wonder why there isn't some way to bar known disruptors from the chamber for these events. Something like a censure. Once you disrupt the chamber, you're 86'd from future events invited or not. Doesn't seem outrageous to me.

By now, the Capitol Hill Police have got to know everything about Medea Benjamin but her measurements (which appear to increase each time I see her).
She's got that blonde "rode hard and put away wet" look.

That's a long-running urban legend... and like most it is a wild exaggeration of the truth. Were slaves ever pitched overboard having died enroute? Probably... but also probably not very many.
Slavery was a money business, like dealing horses or any sort of livestock. The best money comes from the best quality and quantity of inventory. You don't make money by letting your livestock starve or die of diseases. You keep them healthy and you keep them alive until you get to the market.

She's got that blonde "rode hard and put away wet" look. Heh. As if. Sure, she looks that way... but we both know that's not how she got that way... :-)

Slavery was a money business, like dealing horses or any sort of livestock. Yup. The ship captains used to debate "tight versus loose pack" to maximize return. The difference was having the slaves lay on their sides (tight) or on their backs (loose). Although "tight" pack allowed the captains to carry many more the loses were much higher.
