Al AP is reporting that Bush was overheard expressing his frustration with Kofi Annan and liberal world leaders during the G8 summit. He was unaware that the microphone was still on when he told Tony Blair, "see the irony is that what they need to do is get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this (expletive) and it's over." Bush also said that he felt like telling Annan to get on the phone with Assad instead of calling for a "cease fire". This clearly proves that it was Bush's hand that turned the tide of world opinion at the summit.

so world leaders and the UN can practically call Bush a terrorist and compare him to Hitler, but the minute Bush says "well, here's what Annan should do...", he's criticized for criticizing. yeah, that's real fair.
Bush can do no right, in the world's eyes.
I'm so proud to have a president who doesnt make his decisions based on world opinion...
I'll tell you this. I've been annoyed at the Prez lately for his position on the border and other weaknesse in his second term. However, after hearing this I have more pride in a President that can tell all the other nations to go to hell.
Hey TIME--so much for "The End of Cowboy Diplomacy"!
John stewart is going to have a blast with this one.
let's see if we can guess what he said:
stuff
doo-doo
caa-caa
poopy
I know what I'd have said ....phocking shiite
Haven't ya'al noticed the sudden change in the attitudes of the Europeans? There is no question that Bush told them to shut their mouths.
i share your sentiments!
NOW, though, they're pissing themselves becase radical Islam is growing in their backyards, and this proves they are all working together (Syria, Lebanon, Iran) in concert, which means they're not just flailing "brown people" but violence-lusting wackjobs with nations, weapons, oil and money--and the ability to hurt them.
They criticize Israel even as each of them is praying, PRAYING Israel takes out Iran's weapons--and when that happens they will of course make a huge show of how OUTRAGEOUS Israel's actions are.
The UN nations and their relationship to Bush are like spoiled brats who always talk about what a knob the "old man" is...and when the cops pull junior over, he starts crying and gets on the phone and asks "Daddy" to please help his little boy. And when he gets bailed out, he resents dad EVEN MORE, because he knows he can't live without his help.
Bush is right now paying the bail money and looking at his snotty brat--the EU nations--and wondering if he should have stopped with just the twins, so to speak...because he knows he'll do it again the next time the phone rings.
..Hey TIME--so much for "The End of Cowboy Diplomacy"!
I was thinking the very same thing.
A little candor goes a long, long way.
TIME's next cover story will be "The End of the End of Cowboy Diplomacy--How Bush Blew It...ANd How He Can Get It Back"
Do you all really think he didn't know the mic was on? Remember the infamous Clymer comments between the President and Dick Cheney? I always thought they knew the mic was on then as well! :)
y'know, if you listen to WHAT Bush was saying, it was really level-headed and realistic, and not this gun-slingin' cowboy that the rest of the world makes him out to be.
saying the "s-word" got him more attention that if he'd said "stuff," however, now many are able to see how reasonable he is when he "thinks" the mics are off. But yeah, i'm sure he knew.
Well stated!
I was right, John's having a ball.
That is exactly what he said!
same here!
(by the way, I clicked on your profile...very pretty indeed!)
