Henry Winkler won fame on the old "Happy Days" comedy. He played Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli, also know as Fonzie or the Fonz.
In real life, Winkler certainly isn't the tough guy he portrayed. He is an ardent liberal who over the years has made campaign contributions to Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, John Kerry and many of the usual suspects.
Wednesday night on CNN Headline News' Glenn Beck show he made an appearance to plug his new movie. He was asked by the host: "So now if you saw -- I mean, if you had, you know, a remote control, like they have in 'Universal Control,' or as you like to call it, 'Click,' what part of your life would you skip past?"
Winkler chose to answer not that question, but one he would have preferred: "You know what? The first thing I would do would -- I would end the war in Iraq. I`d just kind of click it." He then went on, "And the second thing I would do, I would mute Ann Coulter."
Host Glenn Beck told Winkler that he didn't really care about his or other actors' political views, he just wants to like them for the characters they portray. He asked if that made sense, and Winkler's reply was: "Absolutely. I`m not thinking anymore. I`m just going to answer your questions."
"No, no, no, I don`t mean it that -- oh, now it`s turned ugly, hasn`t it?," asked Beck. It had, mainly because the former Fonz just had to expose his politics. That may enhance his reputation among Hollywood Lefties, but viewers unfamiliar with Henry Winkler's politics may have been surprised to learn that Fonzie wants to shut up those with different opinions.
Some Happy Days.
Sit on it, Arthur.
Do what I do- walk out of any movie as soon as you spot the Republican bashing (it is in almost every one) and ask for your money back.
Tell them you did not pay to be insulted- stand your ground- they will comply.
Pathetic! He has jumped the shark in his politics too!
In real life, he's Potsie.
"If I had the ultimate power I'd shut you up." Some American.
There are some people saying some rotten things in this country. Ann Coulter is not in the top 10.
This is a stretch. The fact that I want to MUTE some Hollyweird Leftist doesn't mean I want to censor them, it means I don't want to have to listen to them.
Why do liberals have such a hard time answering questions they are asked??
And why do they have to keep telling us that think Bush Sucks ... we know already .. they haven't stopped whining since 2000
Yeah, I know. I always put on a tie before I get on my Harley, but, hell, that probably isn't even his, is it?

It is odd that Murtha wants to Redeploy, to Okinawa, a left over from the 1945 invasion of Japanese territories. Guantanimo is a left over of the 1898 invasion of Korea.
I figure we should resolve the 1898 war first, then pull out of Japan and Germany, then South Korea. After that we can worry about pulling out of Iraq.
We don't know if North Korea can hit the Continental US with a missile but is there any doubt they could hit Okinawa?
True. We do go a bit overboard with the "free speech" accusations - which the liberals started by shouting same every time a Joe Schmoe says he won't buy XYZ book.
1898 invasion of Korea?
I'd do that, but haven't been to a movie in months. I think it was about the time "Brokeback Mountain" was being touted. . .
These things happen.
Henry is so bad, he's even given bucks to Carol Moseley Braun. Now that's what I call detached from reality.
Even here on FR, not everyone agrees.
Short fella.
Because the answer is one they don't like?
Nice reference.
I was thinking that they go out of their way to show pictures of Bush with his mouth open or squinting. Thewwy are actually trying to make Kerry look good and manly.
How very sad.
I've wondered this for years, also. But they tend to be evasive even with straightforward questions. Ask a liberal what they do, they may say 'I'm a writer.' What have you written? 'I've written for magazines.' What magazines? 'Some political journals...'
It's maddening at times. I like to be direct in these situations and press them until they reveal they are a proofreader for a huge law firm who gets letters printed now and then in 'Socialist Worker .'
On a side note, I love Glenn Beck. He's just so very funny.
Always knew winkler was a liberal. Too bad.
More typical liberal tolerance, though.

Well, the liberals are at it again. The release of Ann Coulter?s new book, Godless: The Church of Liberalism, has them in a tizzy and the news that it is debuting at number one on the bestseller list has them frothing at the mouth even more.
Simon Dumenco, a columnist for the respected political journal Advertising Age wrote, "Would it kill you to do us all a favor and kill yourself? (Oh, well, yeah, I guess it would kill you.)" CBS's David Letterman "joked" about the situation, saying, "Here's what we know about Ann Coulter. She's blonde, she's single, and well, maybe someone would set her up with OJ."
What kind of people wish other people dead just because they disagree with them politically? I have not heard a single liberal condemn these hateful remarks. Is their hatred so deep that this is considered acceptable?
On top of that, two liberal state legislators in New Jersey have called for Coulter's book to be removed from all bookstores in that state. Assemblywomen Joan Quigley and Linda Stender say they want New Jersey retailers to "ban the sale of [Coulter's] book throughout the state." I thought liberals were against banning books. Why not just burn them and get it over with? We can have a big bonfire party!
(I'm thinking of buying a bookstore in New Jersey in case they actually enact this. I would get millions of dollars worth of free publicity by openly and publicly defying the ban and demanding that they try to prosecute me for it.)
This sounds like the totalitarian mentality to me. Where is the tolerance about which liberals are always lecturing everyone else?
I've started watching his show with some frequency. But I have to wonder if he'll be around long.
Note what he said, "Mute her". This is what the left did to Dr. Laura's tv show before it ever went on the air.
If Mr. Winkler had the "Click" remote, he could always change the channel. Muting her is to deny her speech.
A boycott is to say "I won't pay for this". The networks, studios, publishers, etc. are free to choose sides.
In the Dr. Laura case, she didn't even get to do anything on tv they disagreed with.
Tolerance for many of them is sort of a selective thing. If someone goes too far, they must be silenced one way or another.
They are despots.
We ask that taxpayer funded schools sever their ties with left wing crackpots (like Ward Churchill) but is there as large an outcry when private schools hire moonbats?
We ask that traitors be tried for treason and although it is unlikely, it has been done in America. The number of people tried during WWII was very small but there were some broadcasters among them.
We don't like to be forced to subsidize the left. We don't like to be exposed to only the left's viewpoint (especially under the guise of impartiality). We may disagree with the words and deeds of the left (and providing aid and comfort to the enemy is NOT protected speech) but we don't call for hit squads to silence the dissenters. Not like the left.
Political correctness ("tolerance") is about criminalizing conservative thought.
There is no protection for diversity of political thought. They are free to discriminate against you. Vandalizing your property or assaulting your person carry no "hate crimes" charges even if they hate all Republicans.
Diversity training is just another term for political re-education.
Everyone talks about censorship but this actually IS censorship because it is done under the power and authority of government (or some other official body).
The ACLU is MIA as usual.

Fonzie is about as smart as this bozo trying to "be cool" too.
He might. He is probably bringing in a bigger audience then CNN is used to having. That is if CNN looks to the business side of it and not the political. THe show is good, but I do prefer his radio show more.
Dr. Laura is a different issue - although since when was government involved? It was just enough (liberal) people getting involved enough to shut her down. That's their right.
We have the right not to watch and listen and even lobby others to not give a soapbox as much as we have to spout off ourselves. That is NOT covered by the 1st Amend (which BTW is actually only directed at Congress).
Government is getting involved when some legislators in New Jersey are trying to ban sales of her book in that state.
Fonzie was creepy. He was like 35 hanging out with all those allegedly teenage kids.
Leftists like Susan Sarandon (who is personally thanked on the Stop Dr Laura website) are free to attempt to get Dr. Laura kicked off the air over something she said.
I believe that Miss Sarandon gave up her right to bemoan about a "chill wind" when she silenced someone she disagreed with politically BEFORE she even broadcast a single program.
Glenn used to do a morning show with Pat Gray, who now does one by himself in Houston. They're still best friends, and occasionally Glenn calls in to Pat's program. He is a total hoot.
Pat has been known to fill in for Glenn on occasion. It's weird, hearing my Houston voice talking about national stuff!
Cool too though I bet. :)
Sorry, that should have been Cuba....
Korea, that was 1950....
Yes, that is bad. Best example I see so far.
none of these blind , anti-war, liberal wankers are worth any more than the barnyard mud I scrap off my boots
And that's on their GOOD days. . .
