A growing number of students and parents are becoming painfully aware of the anti-American bias that occurs at universities throughout the United States. This is not just a matter of indoctrination, but can actually undermine the security of our country, as generations of students learn opinions rather than facts and are taught that defending the United States is a foolish cause. FSM Contributing Editor Charles Mitchell offers the examples of indoctrination that you've never heard and raises the question - why should parents, students, and taxpayers have to pay for professors who would rather teach their own beliefs rather than a balanced curriculum, stifling dissent along the way?

My two sisters went to college 10 years ago and ended up total liberals who argue with my Dad at every turn. It depresses him to know he paid a pretty penny to have them end up like this.
Here's what I have on this subject:

They don't have to.
They do it because they're stupid.
I do more than any ten libs on my campus put together, and that includes the infamous Mark Ensalaco, who was ridiculed by David Horowitz in his book on the worst professors in America.
"There are a lot of lib profs in universities."
I have a son who is graduating from HS next year and wants to attend a college. I tell him when he finds himself in a situation where the only way to get an A grade in a course such as History is to agree with the Leftist Professor, do it. Get the A, graduate and then think for yourself. Actually he is looking forward to the challenge. It will provide him with many great lessons he can apply in the world. It is a little like Combat (or at the very least, espionage)without all of the blood and death. As for the taxpayers paying for this crap, I have this to say. It will prepare him for the simple fact that as a taxpayer, he will have to pay for a great deal of crap.
Hi n00b. You gonna do something other than shill for "Family Security Matters"?
Ping to academia list.
Thanks MOM.
Meow! You know - you don't have to read it.
I'm just flailing about aimlessly.
Look, we made FOX - we can "make" a conservative college system happen too...
That was unnecessary. This is an interesting and topically relevant article.
After having signed up within the past few days, SM08 has posted 5 articles (all of which are from this one organization), and not posted a single reply to any of the threads. I'd say that the word 'shilling' is quite applicable.
And my alumni association wonders why I haven't sent them a dime in 20 years.
Thanks for the info. I stand corrected. But I do like the article.
BTW, I liked the article as well. :=)
It's situations such as yours that make me profoundly glad that I decided to not have children. Not that I could have forseen what was coming, it's just that I would have taken a different approach than you are taking. I would have worn myself out trying to find a university (or college) out there that was not infested with liberal professors. They must exist.
What difference does it make if a poster never posts anything but articles from one source? The articles stand on their own and it is not likely that FReepers will get lured into anything.
Some people are only interested in one thing. They have every right to post on that one thing if they like.
I'm personally not opposed to someone posting articles from a group they are affiliated with, as long as the content is informative and forum-appropriate, and it doesn't end in "send me money". I can think of several members who post their articles or talk about their books, appearances, or organization activities.
I didn't say that there was anything wrong with doing that. I merely pointed out that a drive-by poster who's using a single source is subject to the charactization of 'shilling' for that source.
