To: Interesting Times

Well, I'm not sure how I feel about this. You bring a story from a blog and call it news. The story? Someone's planning a symposium, and a list of corporations didn't contribute to it.

No background, really, on the symposium. Just a list of companies that didn't contribute. I'll bet they didn't contribute to lots of things.

I don't think this is news, frankly. I think it's a hit piece. Now, I'm willing to change my tune, if I can get some more information on this symposium and find that it is something that would deserve corporate sponsorship.

Can you find a link to a story about this not from a blog?

You're right, I probably should have posted this in the 'blog' section.

And here's an earlier story at NewMediaJournal that has some more background information, along with a somewhat less polemic tone.

There probably won't be any MSM articles until after the event, since it isn't "news" until it actually happens.
