Judith Apter Klinghoffer at the History News Network reports that Nigerian Christians are being macheted by Muslims "outraged at the Danish cartoon nonsense. Gateway Pundit is reporting that 35 persons have been killed, 30 churches burned, and 5 hotels set ablaze. Rantings of a Sandmonkey is reporting injuries, but no deaths yet, in Egypt. In an update, Klinghoffer reports that Nigerian Christians are retaliating:
Finally, MSM has the story it has been waiting for, a story about Christians and Muslims killing each other. As I have noted bellow, the Christians have concluded that they can either continue to die or retaliate. They are retaliating by burning mosques and killing Muslims.
Moral equivalency more than reigns again. Interestingly, this time AP does not try to cover up the religion of the murderers: Anti-Muslim Riot in Nigeria Turns Deadly.
I have second-hand ties with Nigeria as I grew up with a family who had lived there as missionaries. It was evidently a peaceful country 40 years ago with Christians and non-Christians living together with little conflict.

Finally, Christ never called for His People to commit mass suicide. Deus Volt!
Some of the Christians apparently attacked Muslim areas today. I don't think this is a good thing, but the problem is that Christians are not being protected by the Nigerian government. (Granted, I don't know that the government of Nigeria is capable of protecting anybody...)
What disturbs me is that Muslims traditionally incite, and then when their victim responds, they announce a full-scale attack. I think we have many Christian martyrs coming out of this.
And where are the UN and the US? (Probably on the side of the Muslims.)
I agree with you. Somehow I beleive the spread of Islam is a direct result of Christian division. If you study history, Msulims have only been able to advance when Christendom has been divided on the need to stop these people. Muslims I beleive are a cosmic punishment for the failings of Christian evangelization and solidarity.
I see a desperate attempt to blame the cartoon wars on Christians and take the heat off of the free speech debate.
It's not true that Christians enticed the latest round of violence. The Secularists did it. They do it to us all the time.
As far as this posting...Christians are killed in third world countries everyday. This post makes it sound like this is historical news.
Why? Hmmmm...Interesting days these cartoon war days.
One of the reasons that Islam got started in the first place is that the Arian heresy (which essentially denied the Trinity and said that Jesus was a "perfect man," the same title used for Mohammed) had divided Christendom and there was little defense for Christian communities when the very aggressive Mohammed and his followers swept down upon them.
Pray for the Nigerian Christians. Turning the other cheek does not mean you cannot defend yourself.
