Left Wing Moonbats: Teeth-Gnashing, Ashes & Sackcloth Begin Over Alito Hearings
11/12/06 | From the fevered minds of despondent libs

Posted on 01/12/2006 10:05:48 AM PST by dukeman

The left wing moonbats are coming unglued as the realization of the impotency of their Senate "leaders" sets in. Judge Alito is stomping Uncle Ted and the gang at the confirmation hearings and the moonbats know it. Witness this hand-wringing from DU. ENJOY!:

25 years as a Democrat, and it all boils down to a single SCOTUS nominee

I've been a Democrat for about a quarter century. I've campaigned, donated, and even run for office during that time.

All of it boils down to a single SCOTUS nominee. Alito is the reason I've been a Democrat all these years. I knew an Alito-like nominee would come before the Senate at some point during my lifetime and voted straight Democratic ballots during this time to do my part to insure that any Alito-like nominee would be rejected, at least by enough Senators to keep such an evil man from ever being seated on the court via a filibuster.

Was my devotion to the party worth it?

We'll know soon enough...

1. You need to let the democratic "leaders" know.

All of us do. I agree with you...it is as if everything I've ever believed about this country has been flushed down the toilet. Thrown away for a few lousy votes and some cake. I am so, so disappointed in the democrats. I'm just sick to my stomach. God bless Ted Kennedy for at least trying. The rest of the lot can piss up a rope, for all I care.

4. I hear ya Walt, and in the same boat that you are

It was against my better judgement that I stayed with the Democratic party through the '04 election cycle, but I did.

But now these so-called leaders of ours are going to piss it all away, and betray this country into fascism.

Hello Greens! They may not have the power now, but at least they know how to fight.
Oh, yes, yes moonbat! Spread your wings and fly away! Go Green! Yes! Yes! Yes!

46. Same here.

Thirty-two years of organizing, campaigning and donating to the Democratic party will end with a whimper if they don't put up a fight and represent their constituents. If I have to feel ostracized in my own country, I'll do it Green.

8. I feel your pain

I too have been a life-long Democrat and that isn't because I like their logo or their color schemes but because I believe in certain principles.

Alas, my voice and my concerns are now written off because I'm no longer a citizen but an 'activist'. That's how they ignore us - call us 'activists' and dismiss our concerns like we're some kind of crackpots.

This nomination is my test of this party as well.

9. This isn't good enough.

I continue to go back to a previous post of yours. SHUT IT DOWN! Why are we continuing with Bush's agenda? We know he is a fraud. We know the elections were both stolen. We know he has committed high crimes. Many.

Forget Alito. Shut this government down. Stop any further destruction until these criminals are removed.

Edit- I know there's no provision to do this. And I know the repubs would use it every chance, if there were. But there must be a way to stop an administration which is committing high crimes. Pre-impeachment.

34. Point well made,

Nader just may have been right. At 52 years of age I find it one of the most agonizing decisions I have ever made but it has suddenly become very clear to me that if they do not fillibuster then there is no reason to support them because they do not any longer represent my most basic demands of a party and that is to keep democracy safe from fascists like these. If they don't see this they are either stupid or complacent or at the worst complicit.

Oh, sure, they'll still be a fundraising organization, but what fucking "party?" We have about two people in DC who are still willing to stand up for the people. What is the point of being a democrat any more?

10. Why, we're just keeping our powder dry!

Someone in Maryland, there's a whole freaking warehouse full of all that dry powder that the Dems have been squirriling away. A little when they failed to really contest the Selection of 2000, more when they rolled over for all of Bush's nominees including Rice and Ashcroft, more on the USA PATRIOT Act, more on Alberto Gonzalez, more on PATRIOT II, more on Rice's elevation, more on Roberts, and now even more on Scalito.

Why someday, you just know it's gonna blow, and when it does, it's gonna blow big!

5. Been asking myself that question for a while

The party is on the clock as far as I'm concerned. This country is in the hands of criminally insane men who are corrupt and incompetent (as far as actually running a nation is concerned). They have a LOOOONNNNGGGG record to back up anyone making a claim about their corruption, incompetence, and criminality. If the Democratic party cannot work up the passion to energetically oppose this, let alone defeat it, then they do not deserve our votes. If they screw up 2006 and 2008 like I think they will, I will wash my hands of them and start working on creating a politics for post-Imperial, post-prosperity America (if we live to see it).
OR, move to France where you can hang out with the Islamists. Or better yet, how about North Korea?

What is really sad is they don't realise they are actually on OUR side. We too hate the idea that the fate of our country could be tied to a single supreme court nominee.

We long for a time when the court goes back to its proper role, and the fate of the country is returned to the hands of the PEOPLE of the country, and indirectly to the people's representatives.

When the democrats finally realise that democracy is a good thing, it will be good for them, and for our country -- even though it's fun for us conservatives to see them squirming now.

But for now, when democrats talk about one man, one vote, what they really are talking about is their ability to get their ignorant masses to all vote for the letter "D"; and when they can't, they hope for a court to pass laws supporting their liberal agenda.

The left is loooooooosing!

The Supreme court IS going Conservative, the President is Conservative, States have pushed Conservative, there are some in the media (still a minority) who are Conservative today, even the Congress is more Conservative and will probably remain such. Many states have gone Red, laws are being pushed that are more red......

There is a rebirth of conservative values in the US. The Democrats don't see it, but they are out of touch with what America is. America is essentially a conservative nation built on conservative and Christian values. The US is neither Secular nor do we believe in most of the other values that the liberal left tells us are the better choices. Ask most Americans their opinion on Abortion. Ask most Americans what they think of Capital punishment. The last elections were lost because neither Gore nor Kerry represent the values of this nation. That's why it's important for the GOP to stay value focused not just in rhetoric but in action. What do the Democrats represent? Think about it! What is the Democratic position? Near 70% of America DISagrees with the Democrats on abortion. By pandering to vocal but fringe groups they have alienated themselves from the mainstream. the Democrats have to "pretend" to represent mainstream American values to win. Kerry showed this with his flip flopping on abortion, gun control and other issues. Bush said what he thinks and feels about it, Kerry has to lie and in a reserved way "act" like he's mainstream all awhile he panders to the radical elements out there that think late term abortions should be allowed.

The GOP needs to deliver, not worry about pandering to the left! Bush was elected by the “Vigilantes” on the boarder! He was elected by the “Bible thumpers” who acted in the case of Terri Schievo. Bush will NEVER gain the approval of the far left. They didn’t support his presidency nor his election. Bush should have acted earlier in regards to the boarder, maybe should have intervened with Terri Schievo. If the GOP wants to get crushed, then they need to abandon those who put them in power. They need to start watering down their agenda. America “WANTS” this conservative revolution. We made him the President to do just that. Deliver and stay on course needs to be the theme! Get the word out and stay proactive and aggressive. As his drop in the polls showed, he can’t sit on his rear. If he does that he will lose the initiative. Dear Mr. President, no one who voted or supports you cares about what is written in the NYT’s! The French opinion polls are not very important to us. Pick a conservative judge. Do that which we elected you to do.

The other huge difference is that Bush is the most unpopular, dishonest & corrupt President in history. If we had a prez as corrupt, criminal and unpopular as Bush, then we should not expect confirmation either.

Alito is a facist and a racist- Democrats dont appoint "far left" judges- we appoint moderates.

Caving in to Bush and "playing fair" with him has never worked. Can you show me when it has?

Alito is a liar and a racist, and should not be awarded a life-time appointment.
