Will Europe Survive?
Conservative Thoughts ^ | November 11, 2005 | John Kuethe

As one who wrote his Masters Thesis about the EU before it became a reality I have been quite interested in the project and have followed it with interest over the years. I look not only at the positives but the negatives as well, and have come to the conclusion that it will ultimately go down as one of the great social failures of the West.

Not only has the Euro lost much of its strength, but the once vibrant economies of individual countries are now foundering under the burden of the "common market". In the case of France the deteriorating social conditions have begun to manifest themselves in violence. This violence is not random events by misguided youths, but is yet another set of events being orchestrated by radical Islam. In the years since 911 we have seen the Madrid train bombings, the death squads in the Netherlands who murdered Theo Van Gogh for insulting Islam, The riots in Brussels, The London Train bombings, the conflict with Islam in Eastern European nations that were formerly part of the USSR, and the riots in France.

Mark Steyn wrote a column in the UK's Spectator where he said:

Now go back to that bland statistic you hear a lot these days: ‘about 10 per cent of France’s population is Muslim’. Give or take a million here, a million there, that’s broadly correct, as far as it goes. But the population spread isn’t even. And when it comes to those living in France aged 20 and under, about 30 per cent are said to be Muslim and in the major urban centres about 45 per cent. If it came down to street-by-street fighting, as Michel Gurfinkiel, the editor of Valeurs Actuelles, points out, ‘the combatant ratio in any ethnic war may thus be one to one’ — already, right now, in 2005. It is not necessary, incidentally, for Islam to become a statistical majority in order to function as one. At the height of its power in the 8th century, the ‘Islamic world’ stretched from Spain to India, yet its population was only minority Muslim. Nonetheless, by 2010, more elderly white Catholic ethnic frogs will have croaked and more fit healthy Muslim youths will be hitting the streets. One day they’ll even be on the beach at St Trop, and if you and your infidel whore happen to be lying there wearing nothing but two coats of Ambre Solaire when they show up, you better hope that the BBC and CNN are right about there being no religio-ethno-cultural component to their ‘grievances’.

I recommend you read the column and ponder its meaning as pertains to Europe.Link to the article, registration required.

Hmmm...no comments, no views, no one cares if Europe survives or not?

Not a question of caring - I think Europe is gone. No nations there anymore - just a bureaucracy accountable to no one. A recipe for disaster with the influx of Muslims - who will never be assimilated into any nation, including our own.

Ever read "Atlas Shrugged"?
I have lived in Europe.
No, I don't care much about their problems.
They did not care overmuch when their home grown fascist terrorists were intent on blowing up NATO/USA military installations and personnel in the 1980s.
Can you explain to me why I should care when their imported slaves mimic them in 2005?
The best and the brightest individuals of Europe, and the rest of the world, migrated to the USA and to a lessor extent, Australia.
I don't have any particular anti-EU sentiment.
(I do detest the French, as all normal people do)
There was never any chance that a new entity called Europe United would survive as a viable coalition in the 21st Century.
So no, I don't care about the state of the EU.
It seems the inhabitants of that fictitious "nation" don't much care either.

Have they run out of cake yet?

LOL!
France is proudly incapable of self defense.
They can only serve humanity as a bad example.
It would be cruel if the USA interferes in their desired role on the world stage.

As funny as the coments are, we still must face the fact that islamo-fascit terror is a global threat. A fact that the mypotic Left can see because they are so focussed on attacking Bush that they don't realize the ammunitiion they give Al Qaeda and their il on a daily basis.

David Limbaugh writes:
Liberals have become so used to defaming President Bush, it apparently doesn't occur to them that they are doing much more to harm America's image than President Bush.

How can we possibly expect other nations -- even our allies (who one would reasonably assume not to be as loyal as our own opposition party) -- to hold us in high esteem while that opposition party daily proclaims that our president is an uncompassionate, dishonest, Machiavellian, imperialist, racist, oil-thieving, unilateralist, sadistic, torturing cowboy hell-bent on alienating peaceful Muslims the world over? Story

http://www.davidlimbaugh.com/mt/archives/2005/11/new_column_whos.html#more
Bill Bennett Writes:
Item: Dana Priest of the Washington Post writes a front-page story on Wednesday headlined, CIA Holds Terror Suspects in Secret Prisons. Pay close attention to the second sentence of the story: "The secret facility is part of a covert prison system set up by the CIA nearly four years ago that at various times has included sites in eight countries, including Thailand, Afghanistan and several democracies in Eastern Europe, as well as a small center at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba, according to current and former intelligence officials and diplomats from three continents."

"Secret"! "Covert"! So after the press and the Left make a meal of the allegation that people in the White House might have leaked the name of a covert operative, and after we find out that Plame was indeed not a covert operative under the law, the Washington Post — by its own admission — can print classified information that involves covert CIA activity?

This is an outrage. It took less than a day for al Jazeera to run with the story. And by Dana Priest's own admission in an online discussion forum on the Washington Post's website she states, "The article [I wrote] is bommeranging [sic] around Europe, especially Eastern Europe." Story

Good comments, although I no longer read the NR since they trashed Bush and Miers to get their boy on the SC.

The problem with islamic fundamentalism is that muslims do not respect or recognize western law, nor do they fear for their own safety. Because of this, islamic fundamentalism cannot be contained.

Europe will only survive under one of two conditions.

1. They wake up and outlaw the Muslim religion. Anyone who wants to practice Islam must move to an Islamic country.

or

2. The Islamic faith comes to peace with itself and becomes a part of the modern world.

Since I don't see either happening Europe is doomed to fall into anarchy and become Islamic.

Thanks for the links. I agree that the border problem here should be attracting more atention in light of the lack of assimilation of immigrants in France. This will be a key issue in 2006 and 2008. Conservatives must let their reps and sens knw that it is critical that this issue be addressed. Thanks again.

For that very reason many conservatives feel that we should stop with the political correctness BS and fight this war without being delicate. Just use the full strength and resources of our military and hunt them down.
