This really great book I just finished is called "Carmen Piper and the Protest" by Krysta Johnson. It was released earlier this year after the Vioxx scandal. You really feel like you're right there with the characters. It's mystery suspense fiction, but it centers around fact-based events surrounding the Food and Drug Administration's financial ties to the pharmaceutical companies. It follows Carmen Piper, who just learned that someone she loves is involved with a liberal organization that believes the government has knowledge of a cure for a deadly disease that has swept the United States, and are withholding the cure because the treatments for the disease are so profitable. The protest of the title is carried out by members of that organization, who are committing suicide in a very brutal way at predetermined times all around the country in order to bring attention to the government's deceit. Carmen is asked to step out of her comfort zone, and aid in the fight for justice and the search for the cure, before it's too late. This novel is very intelligent, it's got great twists, a really fast read, and very entertaining and informative. I found it on Amazon.com. It's really opened my eyes about what I'm putting into my body.

It's probably not a good idea to sign up on this forum and then immediately post a vanity wherein you try to sell a book for somebody.

It's really opened my eyes about what I'm putting into my body. But it's a "novel", right? Novels are fiction.
