Mostly from Southeast Asia, but pigs were independently domesticated in Europe.

It is interesting that the pigs in Europe were not domesticated in the Middle East and then brought into Europe.

Maybe that explains the Jewish and Muslim antipathy to pork -- and early case of "not invented here".

There probably were pigs in the middle east. At least in Jesus time, for sure. Going back to Moses time, yes. Back to Abraham's time, probably. Noah's time? Yeah......in the back of the ark........
