So my birthday gift to you will be, simply, to thank you for what really matters, all of which has been your gift to us.

So busy are we this season that it causes pause to wonder "Why?". There is the busy-ness related to purpose, but this busy-ness is the self justifying sort that is predicated upon itself. Existentially, the season seems to become a busy state because of the season itself, which begs a question: What is the purpose of the busy-ness? I propose that it exists as a defense mechanism from confronting the true meaning of this blessed day. To do so would alter our lives or discount ourselves in the lack thereof. Indeed, to stop and reflect about the incarnation of God upon this eartn, and our response to Him, would be a terrible thing - at least in the fears of our minds. But that begs yet another qustion: From whence cometh those fears?
