*Rossi Projected Winner!*

* = Projected, at least.

This should help put some of those worried about King County at ease. A little.

Right now Rossi, taking the trends in each county into consideration, is going to win by 1,036 despite leading by a mere 304. This is all mathematical projection, but take a look.

I've got an Excel spreadsheet designed by my brother that tracks all counted votes, results by county, and ballots outstanding to project the winner. It updates every 10 minutes.

Small Excel sheet for download. Save it, enable refreshes, and watch the count and the projections.

Updates every 10 minutes.

Let me know what you think.

I think you should have said "Rossi Projected Winner!*"

I know that title is a little misleading, but I'm posting it from my site. That's the title I used, and I think we're supposed to use the titles as they are...

I'm running the spreadsheet and I'm impressed because I've never seen this functionality of Excel in use before. I will dissect and learn. Thanks.

Thanks for the change. Thought I was supposed to copy title as-is.

Wasn't trying to mislead...

Is Rossi's 304 vote lead after today? The last I had heard earlier today was that Gregoire was back in front.

That 304 was up-to-the minute as of my posting per the KOMO web site which is continually updated. Gregoire was in front for a bit, but Rossi went back on top.

I DO NOT know how up-to-the-minute KOMO is. They update continuously, but for all I know they could be hours behind...

It's the online source my brother used, and he said it's the best available that he could utilize. I don't even live in WA (he does) so I'm going with what he used.

My brother tells me KOMO updates almost instantaneously.

I know Dean Lum, the judge who ruled for the Democrats last week regarding the provisional ballots. He is not the most honest judge I've encountered ... and the Court of Appeals, Division One, agreed.

Well, I've seen the "BTTT" many times but never understood it. So, what gives?

BTTT means Bump To The Top. If you are watching for new messages it allows a poster to bump the thread to the top of the new messages list. It's also used to bookmark a thread so that a FR member can go back and find the thread easier.

Could this concept be used to project the Presidential Race?

Be rather neat if we didn't have to rely on the MSM to call the winners.

I can see it already: "This is Chris Matthews reporting that Free Republic has just called the state of Kansas for Bush!"

LOL, well OK, I'm dreaming a bit.

No. This would probably be wildly inaccurate in a presidential race.

We had better stick to the exit polls...
