If you are doing nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about. It is being done for YOUR protection.

I do hope you simply forgot the /sarcasm flag.

Legalities and rights aside, this was very foolish on the school's part. The ill will and low student morale this will cause is far beyond any good they might have thought could come from it.

If there was a clause in the contract which gave the school the right to search for contraband, this is a mute point. Waste of time arguing with that.

No it's not a moot point. There are some contract clauses that are void or overruled by law (state or federal). There is also the Statute of Frauds (which actually have nothing to do with fraud).

But that wasn't my point. My point was that this seems to be an arbitrary and capricious violation of the students' trust. The fact that the students agreed to it (probably by signing a standard 15 page document they didn't even read), does nothing to diminish the ill will and sense of mistrust the school has brought upon itself.

Weel it seems like an invasion of privacy to me. As though adult college students can't be trusted. I would feel that way if it was me,requardless of the laws concerning this.

I can only guess it was her "promoting" illegal activity which got her banned.

I went to college, I lived in the dorm, I read the fine print. All I can tell you is, at Mi. State when you sign on the dotted line, you agreed to allow searches at random.

Not sure of the answer but here are 2 points to think about..sorry if they've already been mentioned.

Public highschool...has drug dogs sniff lockers for drugs.

Colleges, both private and public accept federal tax dollars..

That's too bad. Notwithstanding her fixation on drugs, she used to post some of the more interesting stuff here. Hopefully she can get back in under a different alias.
