Durant is a complicated guy. Most players in his situation with Golden State would have signed a long-term deal to stay paired up with Steph Curry and win some more championships. Durant chose to go play with Kyrie Irving instead and wasted a few years of his career.
I guess that classifies as "complicated" in 2024 - 20 years ago it would have just been called "stupid".
Durant got tired (hurt? offended? disturbed?) of Green’s attitude. Ironically, Green was the interlocutor who got Durant to leave the Thunder. Curry and Thompson can put up with Green, but Durant would never be part of that “clique.”
