Back in the seventies, a friend of mine who was a lawyer took a case before the Supreme Court to allow use of Magic Mushrooms by a small church in Arizona. I actually had had a magic mushroom, and knew that a person might have a spiritual experience using one. Supreme Court decided against my friend the lawyer, but commented that it was the best legal brief they’d ever seen.
Ketamine is now legal, and I think it has a similar effect. A friend in Florida just emailed me that she is a licensed ketamine therapist. Smart and beautiful woman. She and her husband, a minister, adopted some very needy Black sisters to grow up. with their own kids. And no, the kids are not on drugs.
Ketamine has been researched for depression. Psychoactive mushrooms still have a ways to go.
