I am reminded of the story from a few years ago of a locality in CT that would not accept someone as a police officer if they scored too high on an exam. They didn’t want “thinkers” on the police force. They wanted people who would enforce the rules no matter, without pausing to think about it.

You be surprised at the number of Knuckle-dragging law enforcement officers I’ve dealt with. Problem is some of the knuckle-draggers wind up being Chiefs.

I think the IQ cap is real. In the last 15 years I have come to this conclusion as most likely true. I have interacted with many that I would be afraid to let drive my car let alone enforce the law. I wouldn’t hire them...
