Bud Light Is Giving Away $10,000 Each Week To Win Back Drinkers

Bud Light has, to put it mildly, had a challenging couple of months. Now the company is looking to win back drinkers with a new giveaway worth $10,000 a week.

The prizes are part of a new ad campaign centered around the "Easy to Summer" commercial, a sequel to the "Easy to Drink, Easy to Enjoy" branding that launched during this year's Super Bowl.

The new summer ads will feature NFL stars like Dak Prescott and Travis Kelce and will center on a theme of "make summer easy," according to a press release from the company.

While the company has not yet released details of how the giveaway will work, Bud Light fans will also have the chance to win $100 "towards their tab," and the beer will be offering more rebates over the July 4th holiday.

Bud Light is even rolling out its first-ever concert tour, the "Bud Light Backyard Tour," featuring musical artists like Tyler Braden and Seaforth. Free tickets to the tour will also be available through the giveaway.

The campaign is purportedly Bud Light's biggest ever, with new VP Todd Allen claiming the company has tripled media investments this year (via Variety). This comes on the heels of a big downswing in sales that saw Modelo Especial, another Anheuser-Busch InBev brand, become the first beer to take the top spot from Bud Light in over 20 years.

even more insulting.

they have paid more $ to their 'on leave' people than this campaign will cost.

if they spent 10x as much and made it so people everywhere would be 'winning' that might maybe be of some help

oh and if they fired horsefaced lady

They’re losing billions of dollars of value, and they say giving away $10,000 a week is their biggest ever spend on customers?

What a cheapo company.

If they will pay me $10,000 a week, I’ll buy as much of their beer as I can drink, per week.

Just for a mere chance of winning it, no thanks. I’m still waiting for Ed McMahon to bring me my publisher’s clearinghouse ten million bucks. And my Nigerian Prince to do the same of his father’s money..

Doubling down on stupid. No cowboy commercials and rebate gimmicks are bringing customers back.

They will do everything but apologize. A simple apology could bring back many customers. But they won’t. Which means they don’t regret what they did.

They have to bribe people to drink their cerveza. That’s pretty desperate.

I don’t presently drink any Budweiser products so it doesn’t matter to me. Other than Michelob dark, their other stuff isn’t worth the effort anyway and you can’t get Michelob dark here in Hawaii.

However I am a beer drinker and I like my beer.
Once you do something to piss me off so that I go to a different beer, you are unlikely to get me back.

Seems like they could cut the ad budget with all of these free headline / frontpage publicity.

No, they are beyond the point where an apology will help.

They must die. The Clydesdale horses need a new home.

A Bud truck driver told me yesterday when we had a conversation about what happened that the company has told them they're caught in the middle. If they apologize and disavow the transgender thing, the "vocal" sexually perverted bunch will riot at their businesses. The conservative side has clearly left, but will not go so far as to protest at their sites or accost their drivers. They're truly stuck.

Easy to walk ten feet down the aisle to pick up another brand.

AB InBev $27 BILLION of market cap and all they can do is give away $10,000 per week?

I rarely buy beer, but I used to drink Michelob, regular, but you can’t get that anymore. So I did once in a great while get Mich Ultra. I guess folks have said Yuengling has one that tastes similar but possibly better. Can’t get it in my area though.

InBev company doesn’t deserve to survive. Put a fork in the company.
