If you're feeling ruffled by recent reports that turkey prices are on the rise, don't panic. There's no need to start hoarding turkeys.
"We're not seeing a shortage of supply," said Ben Del Coro, vice president of sales and marketing at Fossil Farms, a New Jersey-based purveyor of sustainable and all-natural meats and farm-raised game.
Unlike last holiday season, where supply chain and labor issues caused ingredient shortages, there should be enough frozen turkeys to go around for Thanksgiving. However, avian flu outbreaks and inflation's impact on fuel, feed and labor costs have contributed to higher prices for turkeys.

“There’s no need to start hoarding turkeys”
It’s amazing what’s supposed to pass for humor nowadays.
Just bought a 7.5 lb “breast only” for 2.99/lb - that’s a great deal (there’s only three of us).
You can afford cough drops? I’m jealous. After that last fill up, all we can afford is a baggie of floor sweepings.
I knew somebody would do it. 😏
20# for $0.89/pound. Butterball brand in Ohio
Some of the greatest comedy to ever be on TV.
Hey, if you use the right spices, you can really make those floor sweepings go far.
LOL! Classic quote.
They may as well have dropped frozen turkeys for that promotion.
Banquet frozen turkey with stuffing dinners will be about all people can afford this year.
$3.99 a pound at the grocery store this morning. And, that was for a non Butterball brand.
Bought a Butterball for 1.37/lb on sale. Still a bargain.
I planted collard greens and Swiss Chard in August. I bought a 50 pound sack of cornmeal. I have a 10 year old country ham hanging in my garage (I start soaking it in clean water rinses this weekend). I have unbleached "00" bread flour(25 pound sack) and sourdough yeast starter. I have six pie pumpkins to roast and puree for pies.
I figure the whole thing will cost me about $3 per head. That includes the home made wine.
One lady insists on bringing her green bean casserole and sweet potatoes. Who am I to argue?
Forget the turkey. Just have pumpkin pie and whipped cream. Life is short, eat desert first.

There was some Democrat who was suggesting that families should save money by eating Chef Boyardee.
I love their cutesy headlines about Democrat disasters.
Turkeys are sold seasonally as loss leaders. I take advantage of any loss leaders year long.
If Kroger buys Albertsons the days of loss leaders is over in my area. Currently state of Washington has a loss suit against it. Oregon is making some squawking noises also.
