While they may once have been associated with armed robbers or the Crimean war, it seems the balaclava is now the hottest new trend for summer.
In recent months the full face covering has had a revival as the must-have fashion accessory, and even style icon Kate Moss has given the quirky look her seal of approval.
The 48-year-old supermodel has revealed that she's 'over' wearing hats and recently splashed out on the wooly headgear, despite the recent surge in temperatures
Balaclavas got their name from their use at the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War of 1854, where British troops there wore knitted headgear to keep warm.
Yet in recent months you'd be more likely to see the headgear on the red carpet instead of in the trenches.

It would explain at least in part why you still see people wearing masks.
Either that, or bank tellers are going to be told not to hit the alarm, it could be Kate Moss. Good grief, what insanity.

What I wore as a mask during Covid. Cut in half covering only my mouth and nose.
