How many would know how to drive a car with three on the tree?
How many heavy equipment thieves would know how to start and run a old cat dozer with the pony engine start? Hand clutch, lever clutch steer with the foot pedal brakes?
I know how to drive a 3 on the tree, and a 4 on the tree. Plus 3, 4, 5 and 6 on the floor, plus motorcycles. Got the clutch thing figgered out. I even drove a car with a non-synchro 1st gear (Series 1 E-Type).
How many people nowadays could drive something with a carburetor? I have a mental image of a young’un repeatedly turning the key and getting click-click-click because he didn’t know to goose the gas pedal first.
