Why Trump Supporters Believe He Is Not Corrupt (Like an e-mail from Evil Spock)
The Atlantic ^ | August 22, 2018 | Peter Beinart

Posted on 08/25/2018 1:00:15 AM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

What the president’s supporters fear most isn’t the corruption of American law, but the corruption of America’s traditional identity.

On Wednesday morning, the lead story on FoxNews.com was not Michael Cohen’s admission that Donald Trump had instructed him to violate campaign-finance laws by paying hush money to two of Trump’s mistresses. It was the alleged murder of a white Iowa woman, Mollie Tibbetts, by an undocumented Latino immigrant, Cristhian Rivera.

On their face, the two stories have little in common. Fox is simply covering the Iowa murder because it distracts attention from a revelation that makes Trump look bad. But dig deeper and the two stories are connected: They represent competing notions of what corruption is.

Cohen’s admission highlights one of the enduring riddles of the Trump era. Trump’s supporters say they care about corruption. During the campaign, they cheered his vow to “drain the swamp” in Washington, D.C. When Morning Consult asked Americans in May 2016 to explain why they disliked Hillary Clinton, the second-most-common answer was that she was “corrupt.” And yet, Trump supporters appear largely unfazed by the mounting evidence that Trump is the least ethical president in modern American history. When asked last month whether they considered Trump corrupt, only 14 percent of Republicans said yes. Even Cohen’s allegation is unlikely to change that....

Go back to 2008, and start reviewing every single news media outlet, and their biased nature. In fact, you could probably go to 2000, and start with the Bush/Gore business, and fake reality that the news media cranked out.

Over the past two decades, Americans simply started to read through the media pieces and realize that there really isn’t much that they appreciate from CNN, the Washington Post, the NY Times, Time, Newsweek, NPR, NBC, CBS, Fox, MSNBC, or the 500-odd newspapers around America.

Folks just aren’t buying into the biased nature of the news. They have shifted to full-turbo skeptics. The mute-button is now adored...paper subscriptions are at a all-time low...and there’s virtually no trust of the DC crowd.

Go back...

I noticed the bias just after CNN? Dan Rather on 1994 rout of Dems from congress, thanks Newt! “This is horrible, this is just horrible, not one democrat has won an open seat in this election so far!”

And they all covered for Bubba and Creepy Von Pantsuits.

Accusations against Trump are flying like grains in a sandstorm while the left has yet to prove any of them.
Yelling louder does not improve the left's credibility, quite the opposite.
Prove something. Anything. Then I'll make up my mind whether it's worth removing a darn good sitting president over.
Considering what 0bama and Clinton got away with, it would have to be very bad indeed. Not just something some underling did years ago.

Somebody give me a piece of evidence.

“Considering what 0bama and Clinton got away with, it would have to be very bad indeed. Not just something some underling did years ago.”

Compared to what FDR, JFK, and LBJ got away with, what Nixon did was trivial.

Thank God for the Internet. If the forces of evil succeed in locking down the Internet, we will be well and truly hosed.

Michael Cohen’s admission that Donald Trump had instructed him to violate campaign-finance laws by paying hush money to two of Trump’s mistresses.

It did NOT violate campaign finance laws. Even the former head of the FEC says so and he helped write the law.

Allowing criminals to stay in our country illegally and then to murder innocent Americans is nowhere near as bad as the possibility of a technical violation of campaign finance regulations? That settles the question for anyone who is not paying attention: the left really is as evil as we feared.

A Justice Department that doesn’t apply equal zeal to those who need investigating is corrupt. Both of its targets have been immoral but one of them has been systemically-supported in the corrupting of our government and American freedoms/principles for years. I have yet to see any corrupting of same from him. His immorality was committed on his own time, apparently over a decade ago.

Peter Beinart doesn't ‘get it’...

Here's how we see it Peter:

Two democrat sluts shook Trump down for a few hundred thousand... then when they saw he might become President they came back and told him to cough up more money of they would embarrass his wife and children and hurt his chances of becoming President,.

So he paid the ‘whores/sluts/whatever off.

Consensual sex with democrat sluts who decided blackmail was the way to increase their bottom line became the heroes of the left. We see extortion as a crime. Liberal don't. Their hatred blinds them - they black the victim.

Then Peter Beinart - we compare that to Bill Clinton - who raped women - then had his witch bully them into silence and we think, “Is Peter Beinart the stupidest man on the planet? Why doesn't he think rape is wrong? Why doesn't he think blackmail is wrong? What's the matter with him?

Cohen, the Canary, is singing to whatever tune they play. No crime was committed. This is all just big time wishful thinking by the insane TDS infected left.

In real life do we pay attention to that crazy drunk laying in the alley muttering to himself the world is ending as he struggles to get that bottle of wine past his vomit soaked shirt to his mouth for another swig of the ‘good stuff’? Of course not and neither should we pay the MSM and the other TDS infected nut jobs any mind.

IMO it’s time to stop posting all material from left-wing sources, 100% completely and totally. All recirculating this material does is extend the influence of bad actors. Those very few people who are interested in reading this kind of thing don’t come to FR for news.

When it came time to exchange independence of thought for mindless conformity, Peter Beinert was first in line.

By all appearances from this article, Beinert has been stuck in that tenth grade level, To Kill A Mockingbird self-righteousness which has served only to distract him from the toxic degradation of his intelligence by postmodern ideas.
