The recent incident in Charlottesville, Virginia, marks a white nationalist resurgence in the US. Taking the world by surprise, this Ku Klux Klan/neo-Nazi revival sits very awkwardly with Americas liberal image, yet it may be just the beginning.
Reeling from the shock, the average American is still trying to come to terms with the new reality of KKK members wearing the typical headgear and vowing to take America back. This metamorphosis is taking place even in top universities, where flyers are distributed by white-nationalist groups to organize rallies. Thought to be dead and buried in the 1960s, white nationalism has suddenly resurfaced, as if it was quietly embedded in the community, only waiting for an opportunity to reveal itself.
Condemning the incident, President Donald Trump attempted to balance the responsibility as he blamed everybody, in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides, its been going on for a long time in our country. Not Donald Trump. Not Barack Obama. Its been going on for a long, long time.
Failing to single out any specific group but instead blaming many sides, later he also said: What about the alt-left that came charging at the alt-right? Do they have any semblance of guilt? He even stated that if statues of figures such as Confederate Army General Robert E Lee were removed, maybe those of the early US presidents Thomas Jefferson and George Washington should be taken down as well.
Such remarks could be taken as encouragement by the white nationalist extremists who are openly claiming the Trump administration as their government; in fact, ex-Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke thanked Trump for his honesty and courage on Twitter soon after these remarks.....

but one side will be unarmed ,with both weapons and brains
I din’t believe so - it will just expose the radicals - real outsiders - for who they are. America is bigger than this.
The KK is dead l. they draw 500 to a national meeting.
Antifada is the enemy that needs the be defeated
Not the liberals, not the police, not anyone is giving a number of supposed Ku Klux Klan/neo-Nazi participants in Boston Saturday, a number small enough that they couldn’t even fill the isolated gazebo on Boston Commons.
They are trying to portray a gathering storm over a small number of people whose actual number were actually a tempest in a proverbial teapot.
I wonder if they realize their cries of "wolf" could (1) desensitize normal people so we don't react if real Nazis start popping up (more than the few hundred freaks we currently have), (2) help create a bandwagon effect where people who are disgusted with the evil of the Ctrl-Left choose white nationalist movements because they hear those are the people trying to stop totalitarian global socialists, and (3) further erode the remaining shreds of credibility that the elites and mainstream media have. This is a very dangerous game America's enemies on the Left are playing, and I am worried.
Does anyone have a link to the You Tube video of the demonstrators attacking the car driven by the suspect? I saw one on this cite that showed, in slow motion, the car impacting the people and another car in front, then showed demonstrators attack the car with clubs, then showed the car in reverse.
Does anyone know if the woman who was killed was struck by the initial impact, or killed when the car was in reverse, throwing off those with clubs?
Thanks.

Here's a different kind of question I've often had about large scale tragedies like natural disasters, diseases & gun violence:
We get so caught up in the emotion of the violence that we don't consider the long-term, historical consequences. To put it bluntly: the planet is overpopulated already. Maybe we shouldn't try to cure every disease, we shouldn't confiscate all the harmful drugs, etc.
Perhaps we'd be happier if we made peace with the fact that rabid animals are going to dwindle the herd from time to time (as they have in much greater volume throughout history) & that's not really a bad thing in the long run.
Should we try to stop as many large scale attacks as possible? Of course... but I don't think the zeitgeist should have an aneurysm every time one occurs either.
I think we be served to draw some historical perspective on how difficult the human condition has always been & how that is something of a blessing in disguise.
Take for instance how valuable the conquerors throughout history, as bloody & awful as they were during their reigns, have been to population control.
We think the planet is overpopulated now: the environment sick, the resources dwindling; where in the world [would] we be without Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, Napoleon, Julius Caesar or for that matter the bubonic plague, cancer & AIDS?
Here's an article on the beneficial impact Genghis Khan's conquests had on the environment & sustainability, for example.
There are already 7.125 BILLION people on Planet Earth.
Try to extrapolate out how many people would be here now if EVERYONE had survived & had kids, which seems to be the ultimate aim of modern society... a right if you will... to defy the boundaries of nature.
It'd be one hell of a dystopian nightmare that's for sure.

However, the Antifa rioting is reminiscent of the communist rioting during the Weimar Republic in Germany, and that was followed by Adolf H as the people wanted law and order restored.
In USAF basic training our security instructions were, "rumor, propaganda and innuendo, laugh it off!"
Formally recognize AntiFa as a terrorist organization (whitehouse.gov)
This was a little protest that amounts to nothing.
It will only lead to something if you allow them to.

For the record, I do not in any way support "White Nationalism".
Likewise, I do not in any way support Blacks, who have nearly destroyed their own culture, instead, blaming their lack of success on an imaginary "White Privilege".
Nor do I in any way support the totally bogus premise that, "Blacks cannot be Racist".
What utter bullshit.
Democrats will be yelling & screaming " We were just KIDDING!!! " Real soon! LOL
