This is what happens when actual Moroccan girls are mostly covered up or shamed when not covered up.
There aren’t many public situations where it’s okay for teenagers there to mingle on their own. No coed camping trips, no SockHops ,or movies not even going bowling with a girl.
Maybe there still aren’t any such situations. I would have expected some change by now in the 21st Century, and with the internet silently lifting the veil of isolation.
This also happens when boys are not taught to respect girls as human beings worthy of dignity and respect.
This is not just in Morocco. This attitude can pop up in any town in any country.
“No coed camping trips, no SockHops ,or movies not even going bowling with a girl.”
I grew up Baptist, and all those things were taboo for us.
It’s what happens when kids are not taught actions have consequences, some usual, and some unusual, but all actions have consequences.
Doesn’t help that their culture and belief system is filled with actions that will more often have bad consequences, but they have to choose to leave some culture and beliefs and choose to follow better ones.
I didn’t realize Morocco was this bad. Most Moroccans I’ve known don’t fit the image typically associated with that, uh, culture.
