It would appear the the decedent was not following safety precautions and should have known that as a vent hood technician, he would be working over heated surfaces or vats.
However, Publix does have some liability here and will likely be writing a check.
And Publix went a little far when they on that very day, they advertised a special on fried legs and thighs.
