Major company moves from a blue state to a red state.

Winning.

And bringing now-red workers with them.

Donald Trump only has to me more successful then Obama (a low bar indeed) to hold onto and expand Republican voting labor. And, I think he knows this.

Would love to hear what goes on in union headquarters in 2018 and 2020. Could there be some major re-allignments coming?

Glad to hear of this.

Alcoa was a very good company for many many years. They have been consumed by Wall Street. I hope this is a sign that they will return to being a company focused on quality and pride rather than milking every last cent for the current investors only to be used up and disposed of like a dirty rag.

I want to see these huge conglomerates divided back up and back in the hands of owners that take pride in their companies rather than only being driven by profits for investors who could care less about the companies themselves.

Interesting. There is a lot going on in Western Pennsylvania. Lots of plant interest near the new Shell facility. Shale is booming and coal is making a comeback.

With the election of President Trump it seems as if the economic potential here has everyones heads spinning. Now we need to get rid of the governor in sheep's clothing.

A lot of companies have left New York.
Ithaca firearms,
Remington,
IBM,
That one move to another State saves companies millions.

NYS is just as red as PA. IOW, mostly red counties at the mercy of their blue metro areas. That said, I think there has to be more st work here. PA’s ‘Rat gov and uniparty legislature has ensured the state is still cruising for a fiscal bruising. We scratched PA off our list of states to retire to a long time ago. My bet is Alcoa got a taxpayer funded bribe to relocate.

Alcoa is returning home!

Alcoa began life as the Pittsburgh Reduction Company, founded on its patented technique of electrolytic reduction of Aluminum ore. Chief Financial Officer was Arthur Vining Davis. Major investor was Andrew Mellon.

Also, enough with this snooty “North Shore” crap!

Oceans and lakes have shores. Rivers have banks or sides.
It was always the North Side

Absolutely - North Shore, what drip has tried to make that stick - next it’ll be Sunless Side or Rodent Hill - maybe Hill Washington or Willie Stargell will send Chicken to the Mount - revisionists never quit
