It took three quarters of a century and Ronald Reagan to finally get much of average America to think of the Republican Party as something other than a bunch of country-clubbing snobs and robber barons. The GOP pissed it all away in less than half that time.

Way back in 2013 when Ted Cruz was on Uncommon Knowledge, he said something like, If if there is a fixed pie, why not just divvy it up equally? He was arguing against Romney’s 47% comment. If conservative principals can be compromised, then they aren’t fundamental, and we don’t believe they’re the reality: the way things really are. In that case, they’re just the way we want things to be. If that’s true, why not monkey with this, change that, and make equality of outcomes are goal and measure?
The country club version of the GOP validates the old-European disdain for the bourgeoisie. That fact that it has completely overtaken our Party despite the sacrifices of many to stop them shows that it’s unstoppable without the violent overthrow Marx suggested. The country club version of the GOP is an enemy of the people and needs to be defeated.
There’s a really good point in there that relates to your comment, I’m just really have trouble bringing it out.
