The woman's position is an example of Ahemsa ~ and that is the jain doctrine of total pacifism. Although you do encounter some Christians who imagine it to be a Christian doctrine, it's not what Jesus taught.

Back in the day (about 300 BC to 500 AD) Jain rulers in India were in the practice of sending missionaries out in the farthest reaches of the world to teach ~ we have several historic Christian saints who appear to have lived pretty much the same as Jains and they taught this doctrine so it's safe to think that some of the folks from India made it to the West.

About 535 AD the world came to an end ~ or what passed for an end ~ and that stuff stopped!
