It RECOGNIZES OUR GOD-GIVEN PREEXISTING RIGHT to self defense and forbids ANY level of government from interfering with it. It IS an absolute right, as are each and every individual right we possess.

No, it isn't. And I agree with everything you said. When I hear some pundit say that our forefathers meant muskets and swords, I say they are wrong.
I believe our forefathers were saying defend your freedom by any means necessary, because were are all equal and no one has the right to impose their will upon you.
Even if I had no country, it is still my inalienable right.
If the King's men had been armed with AR-15's then, I would have and should have wanted to have something equal or better to defend myself. It doesn't have to be written, it is ingrained.
