Conservatives, be careful what you wish for with Mitt Romney (Reality Check)
FOX NEWS ^ | 11/02/2012 | Juan Williams

The truth is, the Tea Party anger that boiled over in response to the President Obama’s healthcare plan had been brewing for years due to conservative disappointment with George W. Bush’s policies. Bush created record-breaking deficits, embraced Congressional earmarks, gained passage of an enormous expansion of Medicare entitlements without funding it, nominated Harriet Miers to the Supreme Court, and backed McCain-Kennedy comprehensive immigration reform.

Principled conservatives like Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity spoke out against the direction of the party, to their credit.

Conservatives must be careful not to abandon their principles out of blind hated for President Obama. In their zeal to make Obama a one-term president, they may just elect someone who ends up implementing policies that are to the left of George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it.

I think you are right . Why should we believe that Romney will be that much different as president than he was as governor?

Conservative Republicans are like the stereotypical battered wife. We just keep coming back for more because we don’t know any better and cant imagine that it could be any better. But it is hard to walk away from the one that you know for the unknown.

We keep talking about blacks needing to get off the Democrat Plantation. At some point conservative Republicans need to follow our own advice.

I’ll be happy to discuss Romney’s imperfections starting next Wednesday. Maybe starting Thursday, after I’ve had a day to celebrate O’s departure.

None of us here have any illusions about Romney. Almost none of us supported him during the primary.

But as others have said, this is a race between a muslim marxist and a capitalist. Its an easy choice.

Well, I am glad to see you are a California voter so your vote won’t matter.

He's moved to Colorado. Which makes him a traitor to conservatism, not a principled voter.

I look to a president Romney to do what Republican presidents are much better at doing - fixing the state of America’s tattered foreign policy. This is enough for his entire presidency, as long as he lets the more Tea Party oriented Republican congress handle domestic policy.

A Republican congress, for its part, should immediately kill off Obamacare, without causing a collapse of our entire medical system. They cannot restore Medicare or Medicaid to what they were, so their best effort should be in turning those programs over to the states, as block grants.

While congress as a whole is doing this, the senate and house committees need to be hard at work creating the first new budget in four years, hopefully slashing and burning large parts of the federal government, while rolling back vast amounts of destructive federal regulations.

Lots of federal employees need to be dismissed.

Early on they need to restore coal, oil and nuclear production ASAP, getting long term leases signed that cannot be revoked with the swipe of a pen.

While all this is going on, they are also going to have to get our economy whole again. This has to start with an independent audit of the FED, the pulling of federal loans and supports to Obama’s crony capitalist corporations, and the renunciation of entitlement obligations in the future that are physically impossible to pay.

And this leads to major actions in the house ways and means (taxation) committee and the senate finance committee, drastically simplifying the US tax code.

It goes on and on. So it would be best that president Romney sign off on what the conservative congress wants, and fix the enormous problems in foreign policy left behind by Obama.

We might not get what we'd like in him as a Republican President. That's why I am not voting for him and Juan Williams' advice is sound.

So, you're voting "present".

This would be more sincere, if it were coming from Conservative commentators, which it should.

This is just an effort by Juan to depress the vote.

We Republicans in Kali have the luxury of not voting for the RINO this time.

It’s not like this ferkakte state would tilt Republican in this election cycle anyway.

Might as well vote your conscience.

We get that you don’t like Romney, Why don’t you just go away until after the election?

I want to see the jackass fired. I know that Mitt Romney won't have Eric Holder as AG. He won't appoint Kagan to SCOTUS. He won't have Cass Sunstein as a czar. He won't have Sebelius as HHS or Napoliantano as Homeland Security or Chu as Energy boss.

They need to be fired.

I'm with you. Romney wasn't my first choice either, and there was a time where I toyed with the idea of not voting in November, but deep down in my heart I knew I could never do that to my country, our troops, or Israel. The people who refuse to vote for Romney might as well say they've condoned Obama's actions these past four years, and look forward to another four more.

My final reason for voting for Romney is to get that ugly assed Wookie out of the White House. Can you imagine having to put up with her lavish parties, horrible outfits, and non-stop vacations for the next four years? That in itself should make any sane person vote for Romney/Ryan. And please people, do we really want Joe Biden a heart beat away from the Presidency for another four years??? Use your brains if you got 'em!!!

LOL!

Just think, your last vote was REALLY, REALLY, really your last vote. You will likely never vote again if Obama Osama is re-elected.

Puts one in mind of a medic on the battlefield, who wouldn’t administer the adrenaline shot to the dying soldier because he couldn’t wash his hands in clean water first.

Please, do us a favor and sit over there, so we can do your lifting.

I wonder how much Juan got paid by the DNC to try to suppress the conservative vote. Well it ain’t workin’ with me.

Romney wasn’t my first choice but I damned well voted for him. Not voting or throwing my vote away isn’t an option.

Nice try Juan, but you’re as transparent as a piece of glass.

"Because he isn’t a Reagan conservative and isn’t one of us!"

I don't know how old you are, but if you're waiting for another Reagan to vote for, you may never vote in a National election again. I don't know if I'll be alive or dead in four years, but if I do die, at least I'll know I tried my best to get a muzzie-loving scumbag out of the White House.
