Why? - MSM hissy fit and smear campaign over Gov. Palin as VP (Biden instead - ha!), voter fraud and intimidation, white guilt and wish to erase racial differences once and for all (ha!), giant hissy fit by Republicans at elite establishment - so they either stayed home on election day or wrote in third party to “TEACH the elites a lesson”, many bought Obama’s “hope and change” jive - and not necessarily in that order.

Well, I’ve read some of your hostile stuff below and apparently you do need to buck up, little camper.
In short, 2008 Obama was 1976 Carter and 2012 Obama is 1980 Carter. The media sold the candidate as something he wasn’t, and after four years they couldn’t convince the public that they were telling the truth about the candidate and his opponent.
The media is hoping that telling people who are voting for Obama anyway that Romney says they’ll vote for Obama will win the election. Yeah, not so much.
This will help Romney, because he (and Ryan especially) will make the case that they want to create an environment where the 47% is self-reliant and Obama wants to create an environment where the 47% grows and grows until all of us but the rich are beholden to government.

You are not wrong. The “tiny little slip” that I see is the stupid desire of Romney to chase after the wishy-washy Independents.
As long as the main goal of the RINO Party is to win over the tiny (< 10 %) Independent vote, and ignore the HUGE Base, the RINOs will continue to chose to lose elections.
Energize the Base and they will win.
Chase after the fence-sitters and all they will get are splinters up their RINO.
