As an agnostic, I don't give a crap.

Yet, as I stated earlier, this is an awful pick. Ryan could never be more effective than where he is now. Romney takes a true conservative out of a position of power and sends him to foreign funerals for the next four years. Once again the conservatives get screwed!

Hardly.

Ryan's budget went nowhere. The President sets the spending in this country. Obama and Bush are the most recent proof of that. In a Romney-Ryan Administration, Romney will set the budget goal, Ryan will generate the President's budget and submit it to the House for Rubber Stamping. Trust me. That's the way it will be. Ryan is our best hope for that budget being something we can live with.

It’s not like Ryan went reluctantly...and Romney could have done much worse. If O is upset about him, IMO that’s a good thing.

True, but it was also Ryan’s choice to take the position when offered.

After the end of W’s second term, reports leaked out that Cheney pressured him to stay to the right.

Maybe Ryan can do a bit more than attend foreign funerals...

The VP pretty much does what the president lets him do. I don’t think Ryan took it unless he has been assured a very active role in budget issues etc.

I think that was Romney’s goal - get Ryan out of the way so he (Romney) can do what he wants with the economy. Ryan is way too conservative and serious about the economy for Romney to have him in the House.

Romney takes a true conservative out of a position of power and sends him to foreign funerals for the next four years. Once again the conservatives get screwed!

Romney needs Ryan - as Bush needed Cheney - and will need Conservatives; and he will get even more 'at hand'; if Conservatives stay busy; nominating and voting. Mitt; comes from a political family; he knows he is 'assuming' the power of the people on 'their' behalf; just as GW recognized the same. A 'humility' of power; that is alien to those who, by their narcissism; seek power; and who desire - and are compelled - to wield it.

Despite why - Mitt was 'who' he was; can only look at him now. He has Fathered; raised and not aborted; five children - and appears by every account; committed to his wife and family. Will accept that; at least; as a personal testimony. Think Ryan will influence here, as well. Mitt, too; could fail; and alienate; and so be a 'one term'; but unlike Biden; a capable VP can be 'at the ready' for next Election.

Meantime; we have not only an 'abortion-friendly' President - who thinks of 'pregnancy' as a disease; but one, who possibly, in a most personal way; endorses, homosexuality - and entire agenda. (Mitt will not have a paid 'body man' on his staff; nor full fledged communist/Islamists in his consult as does Obama; who invites a 'death culture' - across the board; where 'all' are vulnerable i.e. not just the 'unborn but the sick/aged who burden Obamacare; and as well; those of religious and political persuasions; who do not walk in Obama 'synch'.

We have a Marxist MO Trojan horse; under the pretense of 'health care'. We have a charlatan President, whose Marxist lights, allow him the pretense of 'saving our economy'; while he collapses it. We have a President, who proudly takes credit for 'his' - so claimed - Country's ruin; and one who is openly hostile to our Military; and of course; to Israel. (Another Obama death wish, for an entire Country?)

With this as Leadership; can only plead that voters step up to the plate; and look to the future; for the right kind of change. 'Change' that will not be possible; if they do not.

No question, Mitt's negatives ARE cringe worthy if not painful to behold. Obama, however; is a freedom-destroying, life and America-threatening; leap, from the worst of Mitt. There are long, ugly, painful 'histories'; - many, still being played out; that inform us - or should; of what Obama's 'fundamental change' means for America; and this sickest of vision; is NOT shared by Mitt Romney - nor Paul Ryan.

All this; allowing that we do, in fact; have an Election 2012.

“Paul Ryan as VP Matches Mitt Romney on Homophobia”

Google that one and see how much of an opponent Mitt is to the gay community.

That is exactly how I see this. Ryan will now be in a position with ZERO power and influence, forced to toe the putative Romney administration's line, whereas before he was a force to be reckoned with in the House. If Romney wins, my feeling is that his administration show its true colors immediately and anyone associated with it--including Ryan--will soon become toxic to conservatives.

Agreed. Once Romney wins, Ryan is going to be put out to pasture. Ryan was picked because he is a true Conservative.
