Your post says it all. I’ll second it!
I hope many will. This doesn't mean I'm happy with the ticket (Romney), but there is no other choice baring a convention shakeup, and we know that won't happen. So...
If I've learned anything in life, nothing is ever what you expect it to be. There are times where you have to go with what is there, unless you accept losing the ranch. This is one of them.
Willard offered us an olive branch, IMO. Do we accept it or be obstinate and say "Ta hell with you!" I, for one, accept it, with reservation, and will watch like an eagle whatever they do. But, I'll be damned if I do nothing (not vote, or vote another - or down - party) to preserve this union.
I have absolutely no problem with Ryan. He's the best of what we could expect (Sorry you West/Palin supporters, I'd love to see it myself but there's no way it was going to happen...that's political reality). I'm surprised and elated that Willard made that choice. Nitpicking the options at this point is counterproductive, and only gives our enemies talking points. Either we win together, or we'll lose together. And I don't want to contemplate that.
The democrats are successful politically because they stand behind one another regardless the issue. Until we learn that political rule, and follow it religiously, we will be in left field when the game's over. You fight, or you lose. I choose to fight. If someone doesn't agree, "Ta hell with you!"
